Well, depending on how well you get along w/ your family, I'd suggest you bring an iPod w/ plenty of material--I like audio-books and podcasts, in addition to music. Also, bring some ear plugs, in case it's noisy and you want to sleep. Take plenty of water and a pee-bottle. I know the pee-bottle sounds nasty, but it may come in handy........believe me! If you got a Gameboy, take it. Make sure that you check out the tire pressure in your car tires and the water in the radiator etc. I'd pack a flash-lite and, if you got one, a pistol--one never know what evil-doers one may encounter. Good luck an d go w/ Allah!

Wear comfortable clothes. Bring something to do -- crossword puzzles, travel games or something to read. Music and headphones (I guess you call it an MP3 player or iPod...) A comfortable pillow. Munchies. Perhaps try to think up some good topics for conversation. A camera. And don't forget to bring a roll of paper towels, they can be very useful!
Most of all, bring your sense of adventure and fun!
