THEY VIEW HER (menstrating woman) AS DIRTY, and everything she touches is dirty and unclean. And women, if you are married your husbands can not touch you if you are menstrating.
**And DONT say that you checked your bible, and the verse isnt there. Bcause I checked my bible (King James Version) and it was there LOUD AND CLEAR**

I mean it is not like you have blood coming out of you lips when you are on your period. why wouldnt you be able to kiss your wife when she is on her period...and what is with the turtles and pigeons for the priest after they are done with their period????

Just my opinion, so feel free to disagree, but it seems to me as they're changing the Bible to fit culture.

Yep, I have known it was there for some time. The OT has many sanitary laws in it. Some cover menstruation, some cover nocturnal emissions, some cover skin diseases, some boils.
Do you consider a used menstrual pad or tampon a "sanitary" object, or a "dirty" object? duuuuuuuhhh...
Please now remember what our ancestresses had to use back in the day.....the BRONZE AGE day that is...Playtex did not exist!!!
FYI sexual intercourse is NOT considered healthy during a woman's menstruation, even by today's medical standards. The woman's cervix is OPEN and prone to infection during this time. Best for the guys to keep their hands to themselves for awhile!
Then, there is the fact that a selfish, horny man messing with a crabby, menstruating woman, just might end up on the endangered species list!
There is good sense in a lot of the Biblical sanitary laws. Stop looking through athiestic feministic lenses, and maybe you will see that! This is not an "anti-woman" law at all.

Christians have self assurance in Paul's writing as a results of fact they're in the Bible and, and we've motives for believing the recent testomony is genuine reality. that may not some thing i'm afraid to admit or am ashamed of as a results of fact I actual have motives in accordance with evidence, not which you will possibly ever evaluate them. Secondly, what Paul teaches the apostles shown. this is made glaring as you look at different New testomony writings. i might warning every physique to make arguments from the absence of greater-biblical evidence, as a results of fact many historic historic documents have been misplaced; as an occasion, a significant factor of the Roman historian Tacitus is lacking.

To ancient people(s), to generalize. The moon is considered sacred. Women were often treated with utmost respect and dignity. Sex was not allowed, while on her moon. This is when women have their visions, and learn their special women knowledge and wisdom. I know certain people at ceremonies (Men) become ill where an unsuspecting women has arrived and crossed the protective circle. It is said, women take on the negative energy for the whole family and it is ceremonial like cleaning ALL the family and people she comes into contact with. It is not dirty but very sacred and powerful medicine. Consequently, gay men and non-healers usually do not feel the effects. However, I honor the Moon because of my deep respect for women.

It is definitely there. There are many things in there that sound quite silly today. But, that is part of the old covenant. That was broke off when Jesus died on the cross and brought the new covenant.
In Old Testament times, the only way to break off a covenant, was for one of the parties in to covenant to die. The old covenant I mentioned before was between God and His Chosen People, the Israelites. He indeed is a God of mercy and did not want to kill off His people, as unfaithful as they were (He had even promised not to kill unrighteous people off again after the flood with Noah) so He, Himself had to die. This is why Jesus came to earth, both 100% man and 100% God to break off the old covenant and fulfill it at the same time. Jesus also instituted the New Covenant, which was more perfect than the old, before he died. So the law about menstruating does not apply to Christian girls.

Yes, of course I knew that was in there. You need to understand the meaning of "unclean" in that culture. It didn't mean "dirty" as you say. It was to be in a state of spiritual and ritual "uncleanness." Only those who had ceremonially washed and had made their sacrifices could be part of the Temple. You also fail to mention that it ALSO says that a man is unclean after he ejaculates, and that a bed is unclean after intercourse. If you think about it, it IS pretty unclean in OUR terms of thought to bleed for a week and to leak body fluids all over the place you sleep. They were also charged to change their sheets and bathe in water after sex and after a woman ended her period. It also says not to have sex during her period. Today, this has actually been upheld through scientific medical findings that show that during her period, a woman's cervix is more exposed and more subject to infection and transmission of disease, including cervical cancer (probably due to HPV transmission.) There was (and still is in modern Jewish practice) a ritual called a Mikvah, whereby a person dips into rainwater to enter into a state of ritual cleanness. Once a year, the High Priest would conduct a sacrifice of a red heiffer to ritually cleanse the people.
If you place the whole thing in context, it isn't nearly as bad or as shocking as you make it out. Remember, they didn't have indoor plumbing or tampons!

You are reading a lot more into this than is there
Dirty and clean in this context, refer to religious application. The Jews were required to 'clean' themselves for reasons of worship and such.
This religion (Judaism) had a whole lot of rules and regulations that do not apply to the Christian, including dietary rules. Even Peter had a hard time 'dropping' the rules, and Jesus had to speak to him about it.
Yes . . . the history (the part you 'lifted') is in the Bible. There are many symbols and lessons that became "clear" with the new dispensation that Jesus started.
Don't be so militant . . . chill out

Read the whole chapter. it is dealing with both men and women's discharges. These things are only ceremoniously unclean but doesn'tsay they are sinful. Besides Islam claims to believe in the chain of propets including Moses who for your information was the author of the book of leviticus.

Yes, I like this verse. I like to bring it up whenever a Christian tells me that homosexuality, divination, mediumship, witchcraft, and "false religions" are against the Bible. Then I like to take them out for cheeseburgers (which is also against the Bible!)
It's ironic that you found this verse on an Islamic website. Islam doesn't exactly have the best track record in their treatment of women, either.

It's there. Women who are menstruating are pretty dirty. They say so themselves how disgusting it is when they have their period. This law was for the ancient Israelites. It was part of their health code. It does not apply today. There are other laws just for them too, like not boiling a baby goat in its mother's milk, because that was a Canaanite religious practice (Deuteronomy 14:21). We are no longer under Mosaic Law. In fact, the apostle Paul said that married couples should engage regularly so that they will not be as tempted to stray (I Corinthians 7:4-6). Always read the Old Testament in light of the New Testament.

I know the verse is in there but just to provide some contradiction. Christians no longer feel bound by the Old Testament. Jesus died for their sins so they no longer have to sacrifice animals to atone for sins.
