I know my sons school hosts international students if you want to live in a tropical climate here in Cairns , Queensland.

"they host international students in programs ranging from full time study, study abroad and short term study tours."

Whilst Australia is vast, with large differences around the country Education wherever you choose should be OK as all need satisfy Commonwealth and State standards for licence, tax and funding reasons.

IF on Exchange read options of Exchange Program given to you. With many exchange programs your school fees remain what you currently pay at home, however you will need spending money ;-)

IF looking to arrange your own boarding you need look at each boarding school. Some are very expensive, some not.

My children attended St Philips College in Alice Springs : www.stphilips.nt.edu.au

Look at their site for fees etc.

Located in Alice Springs, capital of Outback Australia, St Philip's is a Uniting Church co-educational Boarding and Day School for students in Years 7 - 12.

It really depends on whether you are wanting to go to a public school or a private school. There is some information on the Australian Government Website about international students that might help:
http://govsearch.australia.gov.au/search/search.cgi?collection=gov_combined&coverage=all&fqp=1&fscope=512&num_ranks=20&chksummary=chksummary&query=international+students

And there is a Government website dedicated to education which may help also.
http://www.education.gov.au/goved/go

Either way you will love Australia and never want to go home.

um, school costs... i think it's somewhere in the hundreds (in aussie money) but i'm not sure if it's different for exchange students, u should ask your school (or who ever is organising the exchange student program thing) So, canada, that's pretty cool! oh, there's not much else you need to know... i don't think, i remeber we had some exchange students from holland and germany and a couple of other places when i was still at school!

private schools in Australia can cost anything from $3000 dollars a year to $20000 dollars a year for a top boarding school. hope this is of some help , there are lots of free state schools also and they are often very good if not better in some cases.

First check out the Committee for safety of Foreign exchange Students. In New Zealand a convicted rapist was approved to host a Chinese girl. No fingerprint-based criminal background checks of these hosts. It doesn't matter if your a girl or guy - watch out.

know this. the dingo will eat your baby! just kidding hope you get the joke. have a great time austriallia it is such a great place. perhaps you should look at different exchange programs they should have a cost for you to participate and that should include tuition. the Rotary exchange is a good one i hear. have a great time.
