We don't know if Jesus was nice. We only have a few paragraphs by persons who were trying to start a new religion, or improve on the present Jewish one.

What bible are you reading? I don't know why people want to make Jesus some kind of punk. Jesus was definitely "The Man" Look at His life. He was constantly openly opposing the Religious Leaders of the day. He straight up called the Leaders a bunch of snakes to their faces. He literally pulled the disciples off of their jobs and told them, "y'all gon roll wit me" then he took care of them and their families while they rolled with Him. When Jesus walked into the temple and found the market keepers gambling in there, He grabbed a stick and beat them out of the church calling them wicked while he did the swinging. When he stood in front of the Governor(who was the highest official in the land) and was asked "are you King of the Jews?" His response was "So you say!" The soldiers beat the crap out of Him and He didn't give them the satisfaction of hearing Him make a sound. Even if you don't believe that he was the Messiah, history details that He was at least a "rebel rouser". The main reason that His death was supported by the Roman Government is because they were afraid that He would whip the country up into a civil war. The Romans were just smart enough to let His own people be the ones who cried out for His demise. So, what "TOO NICE" Jesus are you referring to??? Man Please!!!

You have limited knowledge of Christianity.
Remember the events that took place when Jesus was crucified. The ground broke open and all the dead walked the earth for three days
This is in the New Testament check it out.
We know Jesus had a temper as he went after the merchants in the Temple.
Now it is up to you to search for understanding so that you can make the right choice or you can follow what-ever dictator you admire and keep you fingers crossed for those seven virgins to be there when you leave this world.

You make a good case for your preference. Just don't forget that for his time, Jesus was considered a dangerous radical. He slammed the leaders in public and he challenged individuals in extreme ways. However, if you respect brute force, why Muhammed? Why not Attila the Hun or Nero? Jim Jones? Certainly there are more impressive dictators - more concerned with violence than half a chance at a few more wives in heaven!
To answer your actual question, yes. You have the right to respect whoever you want.

Jesus was a good leader, just not for people like you who would rather kill than lead. Jesus never wanted to lead people in an army, and often said that he did not live on earth for himself, but for the salvation of everyone else. Therefore it was his job to get beat up. If you don't like it, don't accept it.
It probably is normal to not respect him for this however, as it would make him seem weak and powerless. So yes I say that it is normal.

Wait until the Southern Baptists write the Third Testament. They'll make Jesus look more like BibleMan.
I hear Buddy Lembeck and Michael Seaver each gets his own book.

Jesus was not weak. He was gentle and usually turned the other cheek, but he argued quite forcefully with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and lawyers who questioned Him; always making them look stupid by the end of the debate. He was the most passionate man the world has ever known. This includes the love and compassion that you know Him for but it also includes fierce hatred for sicknesses, which He cured, demons, which He cast out, and evil in every form, especially hypocrisy. If you have ever tried to love your enemies, then you know that it takes more strength to love than to hate. It is much harder to keep your heart soft and tender than to let it grow cold and callous. Most men don't recognize this as strength though.
Those who think Jesus was always pushed around, bullied, never stood up for Himself, have not read the four Gospels carefully. Jesus was a very powerful and dangerous man because He didn't back down from anyone. He said what He thought and He didn't care what others thought of it. He certainly was not the pansy that He is often portrayed as. No one could beat Him up, if the Gospels are accurate, unless He let them beat Him up. We see this right before His crucifixion. Do you remember why He was crucified?
Matthew 21:12-15: And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer;' but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them. And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying "Hosanna to the son of David;" they were sore displeased (angry). John 2:15 says He used a "whip of small cords." (KJV calls it a "scourge")
Or how about John 18:3-12: Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns torches and weapons. (at night, by the way, because they were afraid to come to take Jesus during the day; a very cowardly act) Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, "Whom seek ye?" They answered Him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus saith unto them, "I am He."...As soon then as He had said unto them, "I am He," they went backward and fell to the ground. Then asked He them again, "Whom seek ye?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus answered, "I have told you that I am He: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:" That the saying might be fulfilled, which He spake, "Of them that Thou gavest me have I lost none." Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear....Then said Jesus unto Peter, "Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?" (Luke tells us that Jesus healed the guy's ear too. Jesus loved His enemies.) Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him...
The rest of the story I'm sure you know or you can at least find out. The Bible is very clear that Jesus was not the wimp portrayed by Hollywood. He was not a ruthless murderer like Muhammed either. He had to endure the cross so that you would not have to face God's wrath. The Bible also teaches that He is coming back again some day and when He does, He will not be the meek and mild man that you think of. He will rule the world by destroying the evildoers by brute force. After He wins the initial battle, His kingdom will bring peace and prosperity to Earth, like we've never known before that will last 1,000 years and Satan will be in the bottomless pit for that time. After the 1,000 years, Satan will be released again and the world will go back to being evil. Finally, God will destroy this Earth, will bring judgment to all those who would not love Him back, and will create a new heaven and new Earth for those who did love Him back. That will be wonderful. Don't miss it!

I think Jesus is reasonable. He is nice to children but not everyone. He condemn those in authority who held the power in hand of a few and never know true God Love which is generous to all. He never killed. He only taught.

Wow, have you ever read the bible?
Jesus had his moments of kindness, but he was also quite the hateful man as well. He referred to people who wouldn't worship him as "the dead," he said he came not to bring peace but a sword, and that he intended to turn a man against his family. He called his mother "Woman," violently turned over the tables of merchants and threatened them with a whip, and said that anyone who didn't hate their family could not love him. He also murdered a herd of pigs to show off his powers.
It surprises me that you are not a Christian, considering how unfamiliar you are with the bible.

actually you have it all wrong Jesus was crucified because they did not like what He taught. He could see inside a person's heart and know what was there. Whereas Muhammed used force to show he was boss. I prefer a King who is willing to lay down his life for me, so that I can have eternal life.
