I'm still not sure how this tax check works out. I never seem to get one or something, unless my parents get it. Shouldn't I get a tax check?

You get a refund if more is withheld for federal income taxes than your tax liability for the year - it's just sending back to you what you overpaid. You don't get one otherwise. Look at your tax return - does it say an amount on the line for "refund"? If so, you should get that amount. If that line is zero, then you don't get a check.

Did you file a tax return?

No? No check, then.

Yes? Was there a refund due? Yes? It's on its way, be patient. No? No check then.
