we are aquantances and dont know eachother that well, but i was passing by and i looked up and he was staring at me. he then smiled and gave me a nod. he also tries to engage me in conversation a lot, while talking he makes a lot of eye contact, says hi all the time and is very nice...anyways what does this mean..

Well, it's one of two things... could be both. Either he's very social and makes a lot of new friends, OR he sees something and may want to get to know you better. He may like you, but that's reading a bit to far into it. All the things you mentioned are positive body language for move forward. I say make yourself more available, or invite him to come to join you somewhere you were going. Can't hurt. If nothing comes of it, still can make a new friend.

Either your slip is showing ..or he likes you . Merely being friendly wouldn't necessarily imply more..but it's a possibility since he was watching you and waiting for you to look up . Provided he's not a stalker ..(in which case , he's probably not..since you seem to know him already).

it could mean 2 things either your shirts is loose or low and he looks down ur shirt. or he wants to get to know you it doesnt mean he likes you. like i went into a different class room and this guy in my class was always staring at me and like brining me in to the convo but once we got to know each other he was like u were so quiet when you first came he was like i wanted to get to know u and im glad i did.

may be it doesnt mean anything, maybe that is just how he looks... maybe your so beautiful to look at, he just couldnt stop staring at you...we never know...
but, sincere/polite men always do those traits...
