I want to take friend to breakfast this weekend. He lives in South County San Diego and I live in Mission Hills so I want to pick something a little central. Are there any good places to grab breakfast in Mission Valley/Fashion Valley? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

There's Adam's Steak and Eggs in Mission Valley (hotel circle). There's also Perry's right off the freeway by the 8 and the 5. Neither are chains, they're a step up from some lame coffee shop but best of all; It's not IHOP or Mimi's

There's always Hash House in Hillcrest but if you don't get there at the right time then you will wait a LONG time. Or Hob Nob HIll in Banker's Hill.

Agree that when you're talking strictly in Mission Valley or Fashion Valley vicinity it has to be either Adam's Egg (on Hotel Circle - Mission Valley) or Perry's Cafe which is in the Old Town section just North of the Trolley Station on Pacific Coast Highway. Both offer great selections of pancakes, Belgian waffles and superb omelets. Perry's Cafe is very crowded early (after 9 AM) on Sat and Sunday. You won't go wrong at either of these; as I've tried both on numerous occasions!

Ricki's in Mission Valley is the best breakfast...Their pancakes are amazing, the french toast is great, and the rest is wonderful...sure, it looks like a goofy roadside diner, but it is really good breakfast.
