I'm racing a 2000 Ford Contour V6 with my 2000 Mustang GT 4.6 Liter V8, will I win?
Both vehicles are automatic, and I'm a much better driver, it's a straight on quarter mile drag.
Also, any advice to help me win?

As long as someone doesn't have the SVT package or hasn't put any real go fast parts on it (which is almost impossible in this car) My bets on the stang v-8 if you don't mess up like burning the tires or have issues with the engine/transmission

First -I am a woman and would never drive a six Mustang. What is the point? Second-I have always thought of the mustang as a woman's car period. Goes all the way back to Mary Tyler Moore. (you probably don't even know who she is, tee hee) She drove one on her show a hundred years ago. Hmm -If you are looking for a masculine muscle car you could do better. Of course every person on earth is going to tell you "What do you care what other people think?" I am just giving you my opinion.) H*ll I would rather see you in a truck!! I bet if you took a poll you would find out that there are a lot of women out there that find that to be the absolute in sexy macho. You know, at least in the normal human race price range. Go ahead : ) take a poll...Guy in Mustang or Guy in Big (clean) Truck. (and no! I don't even live in TX) try the coast. Hey...why should you care what other people think...haha All in fun - enjoy whatever you get. - But PLEASE I am serious NO SIX!! at least stop there. Or I will cry for sure.

Depends-what engine does the Contour have? The CSVTs are pretty peppy. I'd need to know hp on both of them, because I know for sure that you've got extra weight (not counting any extra audio or anything) to worry about that isn't an issue with the Contour.

I'd have to go with the Mustang. The cubic inches will catch up to the Contour on the top end.

"There is no replacement for displacement."

im saying the mustang will win... make sure your tires are nice and hot by spinning them before hand... then right before the start hold the brakes really hard and bring the rpm's up to about 3000 or so to get a good launch, dont have the tires spinning..of course let go of the breaks on green....

I've seen a 99 contour (170hp) do 15.2 and a 99 GT (260hp) do 14.1 Good luck. Traction and reaction time will win a race

As long as you don't sit around spinning the tires you'll beat the contour easily.
