I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of a good song to play for my mothers funeral. My mom is terminally ill and I am in the process of planning the funeral. I have some ideas of things she would like, but I am looking for something that speaks from me to her? Any thoughts?

I'm sorry about your mother's passing. I don't know if you wanted something religious or not but hear is what I have:
Till We Meet Again by Kirk Franklin
The Storm is Over Now by Kirk Franklin
My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
A Song For Mama by Boyz to Men
Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler

Find out what her favorite songs would be and use those/that.

Or that song In Loving Memory by Alter Bridge It was a song written by the lead singer about his mother... So it should relate well. Check the song out and lyrics.

You COULD write your own piece and speak/sing that. That's more personal and should have more meaning.

Hope this helps.

There's a song I'm not sure the name it's country and its about The Holes In the Floors of Heaven and how your mama's still looking down on you. It's beautiful, I have heard it at funerals before.

I played the song by Creed, "arms wide open" at my son's funeral because that's how he approached people. He accepted everyone he ever met without judging.

He was only 22.

Well, if she is religious I like Borning Cry.

"I was there to hear your borning cry,
I'll be there when you are old.
I rejoiced the day you were baptized,
to see your life unfold.
I was there when you were but a child,
with a faith to suit you well;
In a blaze of light you wandered off
to find where demons dwell."

"When you heard the wonder of the Word
I was there to cheer you on;
You were raised to praise the living Lord,
to whom you now belong.
If you find someone to share your time
and you join your hearts as one,
I'll be there to make your verses rhyme
from dusk 'till rising sun."

In the middle ages of your life,
not too old, no longer young,
I'll be there to guide you through the night,
complete what I've begun.
When the evening gently closes in,
and you shut your weary eyes,
I'll be there as I have always been
with just one more surprise."

"I was there to hear your borning cry,
I'll be there when you are old.
I rejoiced the day you were baptized,
to see your life unfold."
