it has 3 amp fused plug.all of our other appliances from europe works using a converter/transformer except with the fused hair straightener.

Check the rating plate on the straightener, see if it's marked 240volt OR 120/240 volt. if its 120/240 then it will already have a built in converter, which MAY be interacting with the plug in one that you are using.

OR --

The converter you have is not high enough rated for the straightener. Check the wattages.

(By 'converter' I am assuming you mean a voltage converter, not just a plug converter. (Adaptor) ??)

Probably something to do with the heating element requiring 240 volts instead of 110.

Probably just not enough juice to heat it up...
