I have a good-running 318 that I would like to use to replace the worn-out 318 in my 94 truck. Are there issues with motor mounts? Can I use the EFI already in the truck on the older engine?

no the castings on the block are different the 80,s engine does not have the holes on the block to put it in the newer truck the 94 engine does have the holes on the block to put it in an older truck though
i noticed that when i was putting a 96 efi engine and o/d trans in an 89 truck i won,t do that again (everything) has to change
and the smog question of course but in sc we don,t have them they don,t even do vehicle inspections anymore
but it will cost you if you get stopped for a light out

The main issue to start out with is the engine mounts. The older 318 mounts with ears on the front edge of the block. The magnum mounts are on the side of the block. The magnum also has the ears on the front edge of the block, so mounting it in an older vehicle would be easier.
The heads are different, so the magnum intake probably would not fit without changing the heads.
It would probably be simpler to find a good used magnum and trade in your old 318 for it.

with a little work for the motor mounts.yes, an 80's 318 would drop in, bought why would u want the pre magnum series engine. the magnum series produced more power, and was already equipped with fuel inj. your best bet really is to either replace with same generation engine,or rebuild the one ya have now

Where are you at, because I don't know about other states but generally you cannot put an older engine in a newer car. Check it out with your local authorities because you won't be able to get registration if that is the case.

i think of there's a brilliant style of room. issues i could see are motor mounts and in step with danger trans mount. not real shure yet check out the rear endl, could could desire to place a bigger one in to guard that potential.

not that I know of but it might be more problematic with head and accessory hookups.
