You should have no problem leaving him with your Mother-In_Law for a few hours, so you and your husband can have some alone time. How often does this baby eat? Possibly there is an over attachment here of the baby needing you 24/7, My first child was like this, no one else could put him to bed or anything else for that matter. If I wanted to getaway for a break, He'd freak out. Get a breast pump!!! and a bottle with the breastfeeding nipple, there is no reason why you can't use this every so often, so others can care for your baby. You need to think about caring for your Husband too. I made a mistake with my son of "patting his bottom" to get him to sleep. The end of the line for this was when he was laying in his crib he looked up at me and pointed with his little finger at his bottom. (It was cute) but I knew I had a problem. Do NOT allow this baby to dictate, he will not STARVE!! Children can have behavior issues, and Babies are no different. ( I am not talking about newborns here) Don't allow him to fall asleep anymore while breastfeeding, He will throw a fit but your the boss. Another thing you might want to avoid is ...the visious circle of he cries, I jump. After awhile you send your baby the message, "I get what I want when I cry". Good Luck, a baby can drain you and basically rule if you allow it.

Wow... you must have read my mind. My husband plays baseball and he is gone about 6 months out of the year. I cannot explain to you how different my life is during those 6 months. I rarely sleep. I have so see my chiropractor much more often. It's horrible! The answer to your question, I believe, deals with security. We feel more secure and safe when the one we love is lying next to us. Our mind can rest and our heart is at ease. And when our loved one is not lying next to us the empty space is more than just a place in the bed. It's an empty place in our hearts.

I haven't figured that out yet, but I'm the same way. During his work week (he works 3rd shift), I sleep on the couch with a lamp and TV on and fight to fall asleep early enough to get up early enough to get the kids off to school..lol. On his nights off, I sleep like a baby.

At first it was, I could smell him on the sheets.I didn't change my sheets for 2 months because of his smell and the fact that
he was the last one to lay next to me.It was all to heart braking. When I did get use to sleeping by myself I loved it, no
more snoring or pooling the covers off me or bouncing around
in the bed.I slept like a baby all through the night

well, in my personal experience, thats easy, because you get used to share that side of the bed whit someone.
when that person isn´t there you have the feeling that something is missing.
other reason can be a secret feeling of insecure, you know, you´re alone and something potencially dangerous can happen to you, maybe, without that person who protect you.
well, thats my opinion.
hope help you

we are social creatures. even if you aren't still gaga in love with someone, it's a comfort to have them there. That's why guys in prison hate being in solitary more than being with everybody else where they risk being beaten, raped, or killed.
Guys pretend we aren't emotional, but we can miss it too, even apart from sex.
Whoever it is you are missing, be sure to tell him you notice when he's gone.
He'll like it.

because you're used to the feeling of having him beside you and when you're alone you just feel...alone and it's harder to fall asleep. You miss the feel of him.
