Open their mouths and stick the pill all the way down the throat as far as you can get it. Then close their mouth and hold it until they swallow! I always give my baby alittle neck rub afterwards. you could also try hiding it in food but my dogs are always to smart and avoid the pill!

There are several ways to get your dog to take pills. The one that works best for my is to take a cube of cheese, cut a opening in the middle, shove the pill inside, cover it up on the top and feed it to the dog. You can also open the dogs mouth, put the pill clear back in the throat and the dog will swallow it.

There are many ways to give a dog a pill. First you can throw it down there throat and hold there mouth shut until they swallow it. (not my favorite method but it gets the job done) You can put the pill in peanut butter, cream cheese, bread (sometimes butter helps), a slice of cheese, in hamburger, or mix it in there food (if they get raw diet or canned) just to name a few. As you can see the list can go on and on. Just experiment with what you dog will take it in.

Hope that helped!

I have a St. Bernard, I grab the top of her mouth and open it, putting her head back and dropping the pill into the back of her mouth. Close the mouth, rubbing the throat, coaxing the pill down. Let it get a drink, done deal. If you don't want to do that, you can put it in their food, or if they have soft treats, push the pill into the treat, then feed it to the dog. Mine would spit the pill out, eating the treat, so that's why I do the first one.

You can hide the pill in some food, like a chunk of hot dog or cheese. They also make a product called Pill Pockets, its a treat you put the pill in.

Most of the time with my own dogs, I'll just open their mouth, put the pill as far back as I can, gently hold their mouth shut and blow on their nose. Blowing on their nose causes them to lick it, when they lick they swallow.

I open my dogs mouth and push the pill to the back of his throat then i hold his head up and rub his throat on the outside. Down the pill goes.
Or you can hide it in some cheese or a piece of round beef.

Depending on the dog and the pill size you can try many different things--For my dog on soloxine *very small pill* I add it to his food and he never even nows it is there---but you can try other things Such as putting it in a small piece of cheese or hot dog or bread--I would mix it up though each time IF you can or sooner or later the dog might catch on and NOT take it because they know the pill is in it--You can also talk to your vet about a product called Pill Pockets--They are meat flavor pocket treats that you hide pill in We have alot of luck with these are our clinic--Or you can pill the dog yourself Depending on your dog of course--

My vet has said that it is safe to put the pill in a bit of peanut butter or cheese treat. They make it for dogs (you can find it at a pet's mart or pet store - it's usually for use with Kong toys.) I have crushed up the pill and mixed it with the peanut butter treat before for my dog - he really liked it!
Good luck :)

Take the pill and stick it on the back of the tongue. Hold their mouth shut, tip the head back and gently rub the throat until pill is swallowed.

Buy a can of aerosol cheese and keep it just for Fido. I have rarely heard of a dog (or cat) who doesn't like it and there is no stress for you or pup this way. They can't spit pill out either since cheese sticks to pill. For liquid, try mixing with vanilla yogurt. Happy dosing.
