One loses the fear of questioning. Some then come to the conclusion that God is nonexistent; others conclude the opposite.

A critical mind can cause a person to stop blindly believing in God. The journey begins with good questions.

Just noticing that there is a complete and utter lack of any evidence pointing to the existence of a "God". Starting to realize that our religious beliefs make no more sense nor have any more evidence to back them up than any other belief in the world, now or throughout history.
That's the launching point. Then you go and read the Bible to try to answer some questions, and that will usually seal the deal.

Because many people blame God for all the badness in the world. Many people are overwhelmed with the tragedies and personal traumas that they experience in life and they think God has forgotten about them. But this is not at all true. Hopefully, these two scriptures will sum up the sadness and anxiety felt by many in today's societies.

James 1: 12 - 15

12 Happy is the man that keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him. 13 When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.

2 Peter 3: 8 - 10

"However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief..."

God Bless

An intuitive sense that religion is just not believable, or at least that is how it was with me. Being dragged to church until I was 15 showed me what I didn't believe more than cemented any faith in it.

I think when people go through tragic times in their life and it seems like God doesn't care is when they stop believing. Of course he does care and he is always with us through these tragedies.

Reality, life changing experiences, abuse that can't be stopped by anything. god does not exist, just look around you. He's dead, not there anymore, what can't you people get? And also stop bugging the athiests, we are people too.
