I have tried tea bags, i have tried apples( i even froze them), i tried putting ice over them.(15 minutes of each method) NOthing works! I feel like crying because i feel like i look hidious (mispelled?) and nothing is doing it for me. What can i do to get them down by the morning time before i go to work? I'm not sure what caused them to puff up like this. I usually retain water right before and during my time of month, so i don't know if this is what happened. I also just started a new job last week monday, and i go to bed early, but i have still been really tired lately, so that may be the cause too. Anyway, can you guys please tell me what i can do. I can't take this anymore! I also try to drink 8 glasses of water or more everyday, but during my monthly i just seem to absorb all of it and it stays with me for about a week(water retention )so i have no idea what to do about that. I also dont eat that much salt, so i know that can't be the reason. Any advice?
Thanks!

I've heard about preperation H, but I don't have or need any around the house, and i plan on staying in for the rest of the night so i wont be going to buy any.

How about a warm washcloth, then a cold washcloth, then repeat the cycle? This will increase circulation to the area and hopefully flush out whatever's causing the puffiness.

Some people just get puffy from sress/lack of sleep/allergies. If teabags, apples/potatoes/cucumbers, and gentle massage (in circles around your eyes toward the outside, then inward, then outward again) don't help, I'm not sure what to offer other than the washcloths. Drink some warm tea and relax. You might want to see someone about allergies...it's pollen/mold season many places, or maybe you're allergic to your makeup? Have you replaced your eye makeup recently? Bacteria can get to gross quantities in only 6 months in some products....

Good luck!

cold compresses work.
If it is worse at "that time of the month" you may want to decrease your sodium intake in the week before your period. that way you won't retain so much water.
Also, try sleeping on your back at night so that when you wake up your eyes wont be so puffy.

Whatever you do, don't put Preparation H on them...if you get any in, you could go blind... it will burn like Hell for hours and cause them to swell even more... it's not for eyelids !!! Try placing a cold, moist wash cloth on them and going to sleep... when you wake up, you should see a difference !!!
