it all depends on whether we are talking adjustments or replacement of parts
without knowing the condition, age, and type of bike, hard to advise on what to do

an entry level MTB should cost around 400 to 500 bucks
an entry level road bike starts around 600
if you want new, check out KHS, Trek, Specialized, and Giant
all have good bikes in many price ranges

that depends entirely on what kind of bike and how badly it needs work. If U are riding a peice of ****, I would replace it. Pawn shops are often good places 2 get a bike. Also check thrift stores, if your timing is really good, U will score!!

Some repairs are not that expensive so if your bike is a good 1, it may be worth the cost. As a good friend and master mechanic @ a bike shop once told me about my peice I was frequently bringing in 4 work: Tim, U are just putting good money after bad!

Best of luck man, I've some bike issues myself...

It depends. If this bike is the kind that one would buy at Walmart or a similar big box store, you should definitely get a new one. If this is a higher end bike, it may be worth fixing. However, at a minimum you are looking at $250-300 in repairs. How much is a comparable new bike?
