there are many reasons for a vehicle to overheat.
a few are bad thermastat, low coolant level, low or worn out oil, low or old transmission fluid are a few of the easier less costly to fix. other problems may cause overheating that are expensive and not so easy to fix. these include but are not limited to bad head gasket, cracks in block or heads. other possible causes could be blockages in heating cooling system ( radiator, heater core , waterjackets and/or hoses. best bet is to take it to a reputable repair shop and have them check it out.

Put a strong flashlight up to the radiator, and see if you can see light through it. You can wash the radiator core out with a garden hose. While engine is running and gets warm, watch the upper and lower hose to see if one pulls flat when speeding engine. If it has electric fans, see if they come on. as the engine gets hot. Now you have 2 things left to check. The pressure cap on the radiator and the water pump. Are you sure you put the thermastat in correctly, the long end should be pointing up. You say it is leaking out, where from? Water pumps most of the time have a weap hole in the bottom and leaks if the seal or bearing goes bad. A radiator cap that wont hold pressure will leak. The new Tundra is one allsome truck.

Most likely you have a coolant leak some where. it might be internal like a cylinder head gasket leak or possibly the water pump or some type of hose like radiator hoses or by pass hoses. Best thing is to do a pressure test on the cooling system to see if there is a leak if there isnt then do a block test on the engine to test for blown head gasket. Also make sure your fans are coming on.

In today's world we think we can Do everything ourselves, but what I find is that guessing out possible causes until we fix the problem often costs more than actually have a certified mechanic telling you whats wrong with it. I suggest taking it somewhere that you know it reasonable in pricing that could tell you why its overheating. Good luck

try changing the water pump if that does not solve it I would guess a blown head gasket.
