Not necessarily.
Athiesm says there is no God.
Nihilism says that nothing matters, life is a zero sum game.
I think that athiesm taken to it's logical conclusions could lead a person to be a nihilist; but that is a self destructive view of life, and few people are willing to look down the barrel of that gun.

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position which argues that the world, especially past and current human existence, is without objective meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth, or essential value. Nihilists generally assert some or all of the following: there is no reasonable proof of the existence of a higher ruler or creator, a "true morality" is unknown, and secular ethics are impossible; therefore, life has no truth, and no action can be preferable to any other.[1]
Strange I claim to be a nihlist and of course by definition there is no god(s) and therefore one must be an athisest to be a nihlist
I do not think one has to be a nihlist to be an athiest though

No, as a Buddhist (essentially atheist) nihilism is illogical and considered "incorrect view" to us.

Absolutely not... You can believe there is no God and yet believe the world has a meaning unexplained by mainstream religions.
