Why should it be my job to sacrifice my life just because I am in possession of a penis? Does this mean that women should bum rush job openings for dishwashers??

This is the kind of thinking that would simply kill the guys first.

How the heck are 6-8 guys supposed to organize themselves when a gunman rushes into a classroom, bullets a-blazing?

This is the type of thinking that is born out of old western movies, not out of reality. In the Roy Rogers movies, the bad guys were shooting blanks.
