that is how they play, but they must be taught that they cannot do that! this can be done by telling them no every time that they bite. do not hit the puppy for any reason ! this will only bring out more aggression. instead grab that snout a little and give it a slight squeeze. now your puppy need socializing, this cannot be accomplished with the puppy locked up in the garage.puppies want to chew as mine does so we buy her lots of stuffed animals, make sure they dont have plastic buttons for eyes and noses. petting your puppy, this can be done without them trying to bite you! just keep your hand away from the face and head for a few weeks. my last bit of advise for you would be to go to your local library and check out a few books on how to train that pup, this way you wont have to spend so much money and time by dragging that dog to some obedience school! good luck and go have fun that pup needs lots of your time to be the dog you want it to be!

First, he is a puppy, and puppies bite, chew, and nip while they play. They don't know that their teeth are sharp and can hurt. If it was play (and just because he took skin off doesn't mean it wasn't), yelp, or make a loud sound like a yelp like "OUCH!". This is the behavior their litter mates use when play gets too rough. It will startle him into stopping the biting. As soon as he does, say "good boy" and give him a treat. He will soon learn not to be so rough with you. If it is aggressive biting, you need to get to a trainer, asap to curb that behavior. Don't ever hit your dog. Ever. Under any circumstances.
Second 10 weeks is right in the middle of the crucial socialization period, so unless you want him to be aggressive when he gets older you need to let him be around people, other dogs, other animals. Keeping him in the garage is not good for him at all.

Get your dog into obedience classes, and out of the garage. Socialize him. You need to teach him how to be a good pet. Keeping him locked in the garage isn't going to give him the skills he needs to function around people.

Well, keeping him in the garage is not exactly socializing him. He's only ten weeks old, should still be with his mamadog, and needs to be trained , socialized and LOVED as a part of the family. Bring him in the house as a part of the family and take him to puppy classes at your local petco or petsmart. Make him loved member of the family and he will become a wonderful companion.

Why do you even have a dog if he lives his life in the garage?? Dogs are pack animals, they are not meant to live their lives alone and isolated in a garage. If you continue to have him live his life this way, the behaviour problems you're seeing now will continue to increase along with multiple others. Either treat your dog right, or give him to someone who will do so.

His teeth are very pointy because of his age. Give him real sticks to chew on. And the next time he bites too hard SLAP! his nose and tell him easy! until he is more gentle. Don't punish him for playing but he has to learn to not be so rough. You better teach him now or he may end up too aggressive for your kids.

Yeah, Don't be afraid to use the "NO" word, it works. Buy him a small chew toy too, not the rubber ones, the stuffed animal one that the sell at the store.
