Would there be any weird side effects?

No, of course you can mix them.

Most lip balm, lotions or even soap base are made with different oils and butters mixed together.

You have to heat them well and melt if you plan on creating something, otherwise the 2 ingredients will just sit one top of the other.

Depending on how long you've been using these new products, it could be due to the sudden change. Typically 2-3 weeks is long enough for the skin to adjust to a new regime. I'm guessing this is the problem as shea butter and almond oil are great emollients and shouldn't cause any irritations or breakouts on the skin, unless you are prone to them. Keep up your routine for another week or two and the problem should disappear.

You will be fine. I purchased some Shea butter lotion in the store with Vitamin E. I got it at the health food store.

You can, but why would you want to? shea butter is good all by itself...forget the E oil......

yes, but don't add to much or the oil will overpower the shea butter & it will become oily & may seperate.
