...does anyone else find this particularly significant in view of Scriptural commentary on the signs of the coming Great Day of God The Almighty being contingent on the Destruction of Babylon the Great?
please cite scriptures, do not include text, for brevity...we all have bible's; but if you must, try to keep it short!
If you want, instead of reproducing entire publications, include a link or title instead.

Christianity does not have authority over civil authority.

But God does have authority of Christians.

Christians reside in their own nations, but as resident aliens. They participate in all things as citizens and endure all things as foreigners. They obey the established laws and their way of life surpasses the laws.

The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel.

We must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

With love in Christ.

Christianity condones obeying government as long as it is not in conflict with our religious beliefs. Look at Matthew 22:15-22, Mark 12:13-17, and Luke 20:20-26. Christians are to allow government to have authority over us. Government are given power from God.

I do not see this as a sign of the second coming of Christ. Communist governments have tried to eliminate any kind of religion. Australia's comments are mild in comparison.
