RAM (random access memory) is not a "drive" as such, but a chip, which provides the memory your computer uses to run programs, as opposed to hard drives, and other drives, which are for storing the data.

Therefore, you can't just delete things for more space like you can on a hard drive. If your computer has 256mb of RAM or less, then you need to buy some additional RAM and install it.

You can use a ram recovery tool such as freemem, which will help some, but not a lot if you are running with less than 256mb ram. What a ram recovery tool does is to "recover" ram that may be set aside for a program running in the background, or more often, one recently closed, but the RAM hasn't been released for use yet.

If you are running Windows 98 or ME, you should have 512 mb of RAM or more; Win XP, 1gb + and Vista, 2gb+ to run optimally.
