I was trying to save a timeline that I found online because I wanted to use it in a powerpoint presentation. The problem is that when I try to locate it all I can find is bits and pieces of the pictures, but none of the words at all. I have tried cutting and pasting, saving it in different files, but same thing, it only gives me the pictures. I don't want just the text, but the entire timeline with words and pictures. How do I do that?

First, check the copyrights on the timeline before you attempt to use it in your own presentation. At the very least you must give full credit and reference to where it came from, and sometimes any use at all is prohibited by the copyright.

Second, use a program such as MWSnap to take a screenshot of the timeline.

The reason it is saving in bits and pieces is because in making websites, large graphics are typically split up for faster download times, and the text is often in code in the page source rather than an integral part of the graph or image. Thus the only way to save in entirety is by screen shot.

Press "print screen" and then paste it into Powerpoint.
