He might be, in fact, I'd say it's rather likely. I wouldn't say he's trying to lay low, I'd say he's on the rise, he's just not high enough to be noticed by the world yet. You see, the bible tells us there is something holding the antichrist in check until the appointed time, he can't come forward. Some think this is the holy spirit, others think it's the church. We are told when the tribulation is to begin, this barrier is removed and the antichrist will be free to rule the earth. This removing of the barrier is what people see as the rapture, the church in revelations is only mentioned at the very start and towards the end in heaven. There are other verses that say the church is not appointed to judgement, but to salvation. The tribulation is God judging the earth.

As far as the antichrist being jewish, I'm not sure. I remember something being mentioned about him coming from the old roman empire, if that were the case he could be from any country within the borders of what was the roman empires borders. He could be from Europe, northern Africa, who knows. I'm a little rusty on the prophecies myself, I've taken to the study of the signs leading up to them to show unbelievers what is really happening around them. Don't take this all as fact, just what I remember. God bless, and I hope this helped.

No, because he died a long time ago. Revelation was written for a specific group of people at a specific time, it was not meant as some sort of cosmic prophecy used to solicit church donations 1900 years later.

The Roman Emperor Nero has long been considered a candidate for the Anti-Christ mantle, though some scholars think the book was written nearly thirty years after he died.

During a discussion about Revelation on 23 August 2006, Pope Benedict XVI remarked: "The seer of Patmos, identified with the apostle, is granted a series of visions meant to reassure the Christians of Asia amid the persecutions and trials of the end of the first century."

Antichrist means against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.

1 John 2:18: “Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.”
2 John 7: “Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.” (Notice that the “many antichrists” of 1 John 2:18 are here referred to collectively as “the antichrist.”)

1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)
1 John 2:18: “Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.” (By “last hour” John evidently meant the end of the apostolic period. The other apostles had died, and John himself was very old.)

Goodness. Who started THAT rumor? Please don't give anyone an excuse to start persecuting the Jews!!

There are a great many people who think the antichrist is alive and well right now. Building his little army of dark soldiers. Some say the pope is the antichrist and Catholics are his army. I've heard some say this "mayatreya" guy is the antichrist. There are many theories.

I don't think a single one of them is right.

no, he is sitting in rome and was crowned the pope in 325 ad. one of his tiitles is, "vicarivs filii dei", which is written in roman numerals that add up to 666.

he is the beast who was and is not, yet is. always someone to take his place that carries the Great whore(RCC) into perdition. did you know that there is a white pope which most people know. there is also a black pope known as the head general of the jesuit assassins. see, this beast like the serpent of old can change his colors too depending on what environment he is in

the beast started as the pagan heads of rome(ceasars and generals) but this head received a wound unto death and was healed with the papal head of rome, the pope

he sowed his false doctrines into the church and produced billions of illigitimate children/converts with it. false doctrine opposes the true doctrine of christ, thus he is at war with the lamb and his saints

the pope will claim those 2 jewish prophets that take the gospel to the 144,000 are antichrist and the whole world believes him and unites behind him to kill these 2 jewish prophets.

the apostolic age did not end with the apostles for peter said the promise is unto you and you children and your children's children, and to as many that are afar off whom the Lord our God shall call. the apostolic age ends when God stops calling when the last predestinated seed is brought into the sheep fold. if God has stopped calling then we are lost.

Some believe that the antichrist will not be a single man, but the papacy, as the Bible teaches that he will have a position of power in the church.

Not everyone agrees with this standpoint though. There are a lot of books on this topic.

He's one of the fundies on R&S.

Remember, he's trying to lead christians astray so his arguments will be the ones which make the most sense. If any of you christians start to believe any of the fundies here that is reason enough for you to shun them.

Wholesale religious war may be called for. Either that or mud wrestling.

The anti-Christ is not a single man. It is a government.
