If it is cramp that you are experiencing my Father swears by Tonic Water. He suffers with cramp in the legs at night and has a glass of tonic water before going to bed and it really helps. Best get checked by the Dr too.

If she wears heels often and experiences this pain when not wearing them, she could have shortened calf muscles. Tell her to lay off the heels and stretch her calves (carefully) by placing the balls of her feet on the edge of a step and lowering her heels.

If this doesn't sound right, there are tons of things that cause leg pain. Has she seen a doctor?

I would recommend having her get in touch with her dr if she hasn't already so that they can help her to try and figure out what could be causing the pain. Also encourage her to keep a pain diary to record how bad the pain is each day as this info might be helpful to her dr in trying to figure out what is wrong with her legs.

If she is taking the bc pills, she need to switch to something else. Have her see her doc. You didn't state her age, weight, when the pain occurs, diabetes, etc., so this is just an off hand shot.

It sounds like RLS. Does she primarily get it at night or when she wants to relax? Look up RLS on the Internet and see if it sounds like what she has. I've had it for 33 years and it can make you nuts.
