If I thought Noah got all the animals on the Ark, I would know the story wasn't true. God got the animals on the Ark.
If I thought Moses split the red sea, I would know the story wasn't true. God split the red sea.
God had already helped David kill a bear and a lion that wanted David's sheep. So when David heard Goliath the giant mocking His God, he was prepared by God to slay the giant. If you've done the impossible two times in your life, what is once more?
The hard to believe part of the Bible is how could the Israelites start forgetting their God and what God had done for them. They cared for sin and evil more than they cared for God. It happens today.
The Bible is the greatest book that I have ever read, and read, and read, and read. And studied and studied and studied. This is not a book that you read and forget. Every time I have read the Bible, God has given me something new to understand in His Word. It is by far the most amazing book.
Recently, I was asked why did I believe in God. I remembered what an elderly gentleman once said, "because of the Jews." I gave the same answer. The Jews were without a nation for almost 2000 years and in one day in 1948 they became the nation of Israel one more time. This was predicted in the Bible over 2500 years ago that in the latter days they would return to the promised land on wings of eagles. They would speak the same language - Hebrew - and that is the national language of Israel. They would become a nation in one day and they did that. They would return to Israel and never be uprooted again. On the wings of eagles - if I had lived 2500 years ago and I was trying to describe an airplane, I would call it the largest flying bird that I knew also.

I cant tell you about David and Goliath, nor can I prove to you anything concerning Noah and his ark. I can however tell you that chariots and their axels and wheels have been found just as discribed in the bible. Those chariots were found at the crossing of the red sea, many have coral grown onto them, some do not and still have the gold they were made with on them. You can find a video of it online, I saw it a few months ago so do not have the link for you. If one part of it is true, then is it possible the rest is too? I mean, look at the tallest man alive right now in China, is it really so hard to believe that Davids time, there were more like that? Think about that once you find the video I was talking about...if you even bother to look.

Even when I was a christian I never understood that. I never had a problem viewing Noah or Moses as a parable. The validity of the meaning of the stories is not affected by the validity of the details of the stories.
Why do people think that an omnipotent being would want them to believe nonsense like the sun goes around the Earth or the Earth is flat and floating on water. Just to test their faith?
Believe a bat is a bird or burn in brimstone?

You must just be reading the Old Testament. The New Testament is filled with not only stories but letters and hopes for the future. These NT stories, or parables, also have a meaning to them. They are not simply fairy tales. What is this about a giant cyclops?
And you must have faith in Him. God isn't going to tell you, he leaves the choice up to you. A strong Christian has strong faith.

yes - it's all it's cracked up to be. Goliath was not a cyclops. He was a very large man. Why is that hard to believe? there are very large men nowadays, and also very small men.
The rest is also believable, but you might have to do some investigating on some biblical websites for more concrete proof (I'm a tactical "show me" type person too, and that's how I found out)
blessings :)
I know you won't like this answer, but them's my sentiments :)

My best advice, said in a very friendly fashion, is to take some time and sit down with the bible and really read it in earnest. Start with the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Ask God to show you if you can trust what you are reading as His word.
I also ask that God bless your seeking, in Jesus' name.

The Bible has truth and what is written down as moral laws. Religion is based on beliefs and views..you have to find what works for you and you can entwine it in your everyday living.. As long as you have hope.. Faith and an open mind all you have to do is believe in possibilities.

The whole point of it being called "faith" not "fact" is whether or not you believe. That's what religion is based on. There is no solid, hard-core proof for or against the existence of God. It's all about faith and opinion. That's why there are different religions.

You can do anything through Christ which strengthens you. EVERYTHING you mentioned was not done by man alone, God enabled his will to be done. All of these men you mentioned were prophets of God and therefore, were called of God to preform certain tasks, which would only be unachievable if God hadn't given them the powers to do it.
