Wow. I have to comment on Beverly B's response. What a sexist school to teach you to use "He" in which you do not know the sex of the person. I'm sorry but Beverly B, as a woman, you should demand more respect and not take it lying down and assume what you are taught is correct.
Anyways, yes I agree that I'm tired of people referring to God as a He.

No I'm not tired of hearing God being referred to as HE. I'm tired of telling people that he IS a HE.
Now where in the Bible do you see ANY clue that gives you the idea he's a female? It says God the FATHER....not mother.

The bible speaks of God as God the Father. And no I'm not tired of it. I'm more interested in what He has to say than to get sidetracked by something like that.

Nope, not tired of it at all.I never get tired of the truth. God is described in the bible as a Father , fathers are male. furthermore it says that man was created in the image of God,.... male. then woman was created from man. ....female. The male contains the codes for both male and female (X&Y) the female only contains the codes for female ( X&X) Therefore if man is made in the image of God ...God is male. its only logical.

I can't believe that God has a gender. I'm accustomed to God being a "He". If not (we can't God "She" if God doesn't have a gender, either), I suppose we could go with "It", "They", or "He/She". Oftentimes, "He" refers to both, as it does in many books. That may not be satisfying, but, I don't know what other options there are.

1) I am a Christian (Catholic to be exact)
2) God is referred to in a male sense in the Bible. That doesn't mean that God is actually a male, but we should identify Him that way. :)

It is GOD The Father (last time I looked, Fathers (daddys) are Male).
Now GOD The CREATOR is Light, Love, Life and alot more.
The Creator is way above Male or Female.
(Guess HE couldn't resist becomning One of US!--(The Father)).

John 4:24
Jesus said, "God is a spirit, and they that worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth".
God is always referenced in the masculine in the Bible.

How else should we refer to Him? In the English language when refering to someone of whose gender you do not know, you always use the male. (or so I was taught in English class)
As for why we refer to Him as a being, He is refered as such in the bible and people are just using that as a basis.
