If you are completely reliant on waiting for god's intervention or something, then yes it is a crutch. A person who believes that god has done and will do everything for them cannot stand on their own. These are the people who thank god for their friends, their good grades, and all stuff like that they themselves are responsible for achieving. Also, if you give into the feeling of being loved by god and being important, it is also a crutch. You can have faith in god without relying on him, and if you use god as a drug it is a crutch also.

God Is My Protector "No weapon formed against you shall prosper." (Is 54:17)
I would like to see you demonstrate that one. "But mister mugger I believe in God so you won't prosper".
I'm not even going to waste my time on the others.
You don't need a crutch if you would just be brave enough to explore that option. One day I hope you are brave enough to stand on your own.

my crutch lets me type without capitalizing Every Single Word.
my crutch also allows me to have my own thoughts and not rely on a 2000 year old manuscript that has questionable origins and an even more questionable history.

A person should not need a crutch. A person should learn to stand on their own. If a persons god is so great then they would not need a crutch.

My crutch is logic
Here's what it can do:
Keeps me sane "Often, the less there is to justify a traditional custom, the harder it is to get rid of it.”
Makes me smart "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end”
Helps me make decisions "The logic of words should yield to the logic of realities.”
Helps me have indepedent thought “Logic is the anatomy of thought”
Gives me reason “The world is full of strange phenomena that cannot be explained by the laws of logic or science."

My crutch supports me and carries me though the bad times. That is all that I ask, the rest is up to me.

In all seriousness, my crutch helps me walk. If I used your crutch, I'd bust my face every time I tried to move.

I have no crutch nor do I need one. I have always done perfectly well standing on my own two feet.
