It hurt. Then the swelling went down and it left about 1 inch in diameter bruise. I'm on a medicine that has had many problems with strokes and clots. Could this had been a clot? My doctor just kind of blew it off and didn't think it was nothing. I did not do anything to jam my finger, ect.

Also I was able to move it when the swelling went down and it didn't hurt anymore. This all happened within 30 minutes.

Don't ever let a doctor blow you off if you are worried about your health. A doctor nearly killed my daughter when she complained of a still neck when she was poorly with another problem, said she had a stiff neck because she probably slept funny, turned out she had Meningitis and had to be rushed to hospital a couple of days later. I ignored a pain in my chest once and turned out I had a blod clot on the lung so if some thing is wrong with you check it out and don't take any rubbish from any one

If there was a bruise there had to have been something to
cause the bruising. I often bump myself and find the bruise
later. Arthritis can cause swelling of the joints, but there
shouldn't be any bruising. With arthritis the joint is usually red,
swollen and hot. Clots most often happen in the legs where
the circulation isn't as good. I would think if your Dr thought it was serious he would have questioned you about it. I hope it improves quickly.

I doubt it was a clot. Maybe a spider bite or something. Im sure if your doc thought it was significant, hed have treated it appropriately. The fact that a bruise occurred afterwards prob meant a small bite of somekind. Strokes most times occur in larger arteries (not in the fingers) and again, the bruise tells you something otherwise.

It is not a clot. Sounds like you have some inflammation going on and also may have bumped your finger without realizing it. Try ibuprofen or naproxen in prescription strength dose and soak it in warm water for a couple days to see if this helps.

Its not a clot. Sounds like you have damaged your tendens. Swelling out isa good sign..your body is healing itself. Take some avil for the swelling and pack it in ice.
