My cheeks are covered in small bumps that make my skin feel rough. They aren't discolored and they almost never develop into whiteheads or full-fledged pimples. They aren't blackheads, either. I've had them for almost a year now.
I've stopped wearing foundation (my skin isn't discolored or blemished, just rough), drinking milk, eating red meat, greasy junk food, and hydrogenated oils. I drink 3 liters of water a day and eat lots of veggies and fruits. I wash my face two-three times a day with Cetaphil and moisturize with Purpose. I also exfoliate and/or use a glycolic mask once a week. The dermatologist just prescribes extremely strong products that just make my face flare up and peel. What am I missing or doing wrong?

It is hard for anyone on here to tell you what to do when we can't see your skin. Even a doctor would need to see your skin to tell you what to do.

What you are missing is a formal diagnosis. How can you properly treat your skin when you have no idea what the problem is? You could be making things worse. Please see a dermatologist to find out exactly what the "bumps" are and then you will know the correct way to treat them. If you just keep experimenting, you may get lucky but, then again, you could cause some permanent damage. It would be best to have some professional guidance. Please schedule an appointment with a dermatologist.
