Pure logics!

Every creation has a creator. As simple as that. Islam was a logical choice since Qur'an was sent last, so it had to be true. I studied Qur'an, Hadith (recorded saying of Muhammed pbuh) and Islam in general. It was very hard for me in the beginning to distinguish between Islam and Islamic culture and there were times when I simply said to myself 'this is not right' Then I met some great Muslims who explained a few things to me: first lesson being 'culture doesn't equal Islam'. I have many questions even today, but ironic thing is that each time I doubt Islam I end up finding my answer in Qur'an. So, yeah - it works well for me.

God provides a means whereby anyone can receive their own personal evidence of truth. He has provided the Holy Ghost who testifies of ALL truth.

Some others that have answered this question have talked about study and logical or scientific conclusions. Some have talked about selecting religions based on their own selected life style. Others just say that they have read a book and it just seems to make sense.

The thing is, all of these methods are basically a craps shoot whether or not you will be lead in the right direction. Of course, study and learning is an important part of gaining knowledge but there is only one source of truth and ALL truth comes from God.

So, how does God reveal his truth to man? It is through the Holy Ghost. You see, as we study, particularly things of a spiritual nature, we should also be incorporating prayer as a part of our study. As we pray for guidance, the Holy Spirit will speak peace to our minds and our hearts. And when something is of particular importance, the feelings that the Spirit becomes particularly strong. I know God lives and I have faith in Jesus Christ because of the extremely strong promptings and revelations I have had through the Holy Ghost. At times, these feelings are so incredibly strong, that they cannot be denied.

I was probably in my mid 20's, when I was watching a TV preacher explain the basic Bible story, and how the Old and New Testament relate to each other. When all of a sudden it just made sense, that big book of stories was not just some nice read, it was the answer to life itself. It was like when I knew I had the right answer to any question, it just makes the most sense. And so far no other religion even comes close. So I decided to follow Christ.

i know because my God is a God of love and has expressed His perfect love over and over again in the Bible. I also know because I hear His voice and read His Word. I read the Bible and feel/know that it is the Truth. I have questioned several aspects of the Bible and tried to figure it out on my own and every time I do, I come back to the Bible. I am amazed at the grace and mercy God expresses. Last but certainly not least, my God is a self-sacrificing God. He does everything for me and you including the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. I don't think I'd find that in any other religion.

Intelligent design makes too much sense for it to be wrong, until a better explanation surfaces I will beleive in the God of the Bible.
It's not like Christianity is some new strange religion that some freak made up in his mamma's basement....the Bible has been taught as Earth's history for a very long time.

Although I don't have any empirical proof that what I believe is THE truth, I still know. And no I don't mean that I know because of faith. Faith is what keeps me believing when times are hard, when the road gets rough. But what lets me know that I "chose" the right beliefs is that feeling I have inside of me. It's hard to explain to someone who has never felt it, but when you feel the Holy Spirit, you just know.

And since I made my decision to believe in God, accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and follow His teachings, there have been many instances in my life that have reassured my decision.

I learned as much as I could about different religions until I found what made the best sense to me. It never ends though. I am still hung up on points of doctrine that just don't make sense. It seems like all religions have their ugly, flawed sides.

actually there is no reason for people to choose a religion other than faith. sorry to use that but really who knows. I'm an atheist.... i think. so even there a prove that i doubt my beliefs. maby its how some one is raised or how their life experiences effect them. it is more likely people are scared sh*tless into religion by the news. well ofcoars I'm to scared to die and that's it we just die. so people probably convince them self a false truth. kinda like paranoia but worse. they convince others of their insanity. (ido this alot... not knocking any specific religion or any maby)

I know because I am not told I have any faults and my religion does not tell me I am wrong. I do not have to worry about constraints or strict rules, and I am accepted no matter what. I am not threatened with horror stories of burning Hells or cajoled incentives of everlasting Heavens. I do not need someone to tell me my religion is right. I can listen to other people preach their religions at me at know that no matter what they say, I am not wrong.

Because of what the bible says......................12 “But before all these things people will lay their hands upon YOU and persecute YOU, delivering YOU up to the synagogues and prisons, YOU being haled before kings and governors for the sake of my name. 13 It will turn out to YOU for a witness. 14 Therefore settle it in YOUR hearts not to rehearse beforehand how to make YOUR defense, 15 for I will give YOU a mouth and wisdom, which all YOUR opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute. 16 Moreover, YOU will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of YOU to death; 17 and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name. 18 And yet not a hair of YOUR heads will by any means perish. WHO GETS THIS THE MOST?
