I'm in hair design school right now..and just happen to be Asian

anyways...i have a cut that I'd say is btw punk rocker and emo...i have layers (this also works with medium length hair) which i had b4 i chopped it off and now i have a shorter version...go in and point tip cut the ends and then start notching the ends (taking sections of the hair at the ends and cutting directly into the hair taking out chunks)**thinning shears work also...and in the front i have side swept bangs except with a more spiked "pc" look and i used the same texturizing technique -point tip cutting. I tease my crown (for volume on top) and use a pomade stick to make certain strands stick out

or you could go to a salon and ask for a graduated perimeter cut--your front is one length and blends into the back, which is layered (long in the front short in the back)...all you have to do is slap pomade on your bangs or front length and spike the back

This is what I like to call the new age mullet. I love it, very fashionable. It's just a lot of layers that start very high on the head. Go to a reputable salon and tell your stylist that's the look you want, she'll know what you're talking about.

You should probably get it cut angling your face and a thinned out, peicey look for your bangs (with a sideways part, obviously.) I have looked at that website listed below before, and they have wonderful organized refrences, based on your preferred length and color. If you get a medium-short to short cut, you should use mousse to give your hair volume and to style it, and even styling wax from the salon to give your hair that peicey look.

Again, here's that link I was talking about:

Hope that helps!

heyy I personally am NOT a fan of the "emo" style, but some of them can look kinda cool, sometimes, once-in-a-blue-moon, maybe. So heres this link for a great "emo"-cut that is for black or whatever color hair w/some hiughlights. It looks cute w/that headband, but it looks like you can wear it other ways, too. So heres the link:

I also like this one:
