Why Doesn't "God" Show Himself?

He did show himself 2000 years ago.
Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

God has revealed Himself.

You can see the earth, the sky and God's divine nature, so the Bible says that man is without excuse.

Think of the human body and its complex intrecate details.
The eye for example, and how man and women are designed differently, yet made for each other. Think about it!

It doesn't take a genious to work out that in order to have a design there has to be a designer.

Look at the chair you are now sitting on - did it evolve? No, of course not, it would be ludicrous to think such, and yet people choose to believe that the world evolved....its laughable really!

I believe that God wants us to learn to love him unconditionally because this is the purest form of love and in order for that to happen he must be invisible and seem far away even though he is not. If we could see him and hear him all the time then we would probably be scared of him instead of loving him. When he spoke to the Hebrews at the mountain with Moses they were terrified of him. He just doesn't want to be too intimidating. He is with us all the time though and all we have to do is call on him.

What good would that do? people would right Him off as an alien or as wirchcraft. Do we, the wickedest creatures on planet earth, deserve it? It could harm those of peculiar faith, by that I mean those who relied on trusting God though we can't see Him.

and here's a tidbit: God has shown Himself, even visibly in physical manifestations, but often not to large crowds. He usually only does this to spread the gospel where people won't go, or to increase the faith of a person, even if they don't serve Him.

Because, (like Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny) "god" doesn't exist. It was an idea made up the governing bodies of yesteryear to control the masses.
