Do you lolipop it at 6:00, or 12:00 aiming for the top edge of the circle mine prefers 12. I hear there are different ways of lining the front sight.

6:00 position the "pumpkin on the Post" is the way people who shoot matches with Garands do it.

In order to answer your question, I need you to clarify what you meant when you stated that the sight was at 6:00 and 12:00 respectively.

I attempted to E-mail you to obtain this information but, unfortunately, you do not accept E-mail.

If by "6:00" you mean having the post stick half way through the peep hole and use the term "12:00" to refer to the post sticking all the way through the peep hole, then you should be shooting from the "6:00" position.

You should be able to adjust your rear sight, with the wheel on the side of the sight to raise your rear sight to the point that your Garand is zeroed when the post is only half way through the peep hole.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to E-mail me.

I'm not sure if I understand your 6:00 or 12:00 o'clock references, so I'll just comment.

As I understand aperture sights, you are supposed to "center" the very top of the front sight post in the rear sight circle. Your eye draws it naturally dead center.

My grandad had a Marlin lever .30-30 with a Lyman sight and that's how he taught me to adjust it and shoot it.

I regularly shoot Enfield, M1 and 1903 and that's the way I adjust and shoot all of them.

I guess the important thing is, always do it the same and of course practice more than you think you need to. Once you sight it in and practice, getting the same results in the field should be fine.

You always balance the front sight at 6 o'clock. You are suppose to balance the front sight in the middle of the bullseye ,with the front sight at 6 o'clock...
