Cut back on things like soda and sweets. When you want a snack try having fresh fruit or veggies instead of chips or other junk food. Try to get your parents to help by only having healthy food in the house and preparing healthy meals. You don't have to cut out junk food 100%, just think about it more when you reach for something unhealthy and tell yourself that you'll feel better later if you have an apple instead. Also try to get 30 min -1 hour of exercise most days of the week. It doesn't have to be formal exercise, just get outside and play a sport you like or ride a bike or if you have a dog or younger relative you can play with, just chase them around for awhile. You should not think of it as going on a diet, just making healthier choices - apple instead of chips, play basketball instead of video games. Also, you are young, so talk to your parents and they will be willing to help you. If you need to lose a lot of weight, you should see a doctor about the best way to do it.

being over weight when I was your age I understand where you coming from. don't fall for any pill or quit way to lose weight. there is no real healthy way to lose weight quickly. My opinion is to eat healthier (It may be hard with school food) and exercise any chance you get. The saying is true "no pain no gain" if you have trouble know what to eat ask you gym teacher or even your nurse.
one thing I fell in to (thinking it was stupid at first) was weight watchers. they make it really easy to keep track of what i was eating. between that and basketball evey weekday. I lost 50lbs in 3months. this may go quicker or slower for some depending on there body.

you are only 12. give yourself some time. a lot of it is more than likely, baby fat. it usually comes off almost by itself by about 13-15 yrs old. in the meantime, stay active and eat healthy. stay away from the junk food. if you start a healthy lifestyle now you'll continue it through adulthood. start walking or playing a sport. even bowling can be excercise. don't worry to much. if you are realy uncomfortable about your weight, see your doc. he/she can help you learn how to eat right and stay healthy. when i was your age, i saw my doc. he put me on a specific calorie diet and it really helped. good luck to you.
