We need more nutricious, healthy food. We need to stop purchasing over processed food, which do not contain nutrins anymore. What do we need to do to tell factories and food companies to bring us back to health?

I do grow my own garden. When purchasing food, I read the lables. If something contains to much sugar, I just do not purchase it.
I also make sure that every summer, I have my own healthy stash of veggies in my garden. I also eat less red meat. Therefore, more protein.
I have stopped eating chunck food and sweet's and snacks.
Instead of chocolate, I have a jar of the good German Nutella in my cupboard.
If I get the urge for chocolate, than I have a piece of bagel with Nutella on it. Its a great exchange.

Actually, it should be the other way around. It's not the factories problem that americans are fat, it's Americans. There is no reason to not cook your own meals or head to subway instead of mcdonalds if you feel like eating out. Many resteraunts do offer healthier choices if you learn to select different food choices.
If americans start saying "no" to fast food, then fast food will cease to exist because they won' have business. The reason they are so popular is because so many people want it. It's our problem to fix, not theirs.

Sugar and high fructose corn syrup. If you look at the sales of corn and the rates of obesity in the last few years, the upward slopes are almost identical. High fructose corn syrup is in EVERYTHING and it's a man made, artificial sweetener and can be linked to obesity. Then there's the Trans fats. They both need to be BANNED. Overall, though, everything in moderation! People have to be responsible for themselves and what they eat, but the food manufacturers and fast food places also need to exercise Corporate responsibility. Why would they want to kill their consumers? Doesn't make any sense. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!

You're assuming it's all the fault of the food industry when it's not. In Europe and Asia, McDonalds and Burger King, offering the SAME fatty foods, have lower rates of obesity.
It's called public transportation. It's called having to walk a mile to a grocery store every other day. It's called EXERCISE.

I don't see enough vegetable and fruit gardens nowadays. If people grew their own food, they'd be living in style. Plowing and tending a garden takes excercise too, so why not reap the health benefits?

Its not really the factories fault its ours.. if we didnt buy the unhealthy products in the first place theyd go out of business. Thats like saying why dont they make cigerettes healthier? Well because they dont care. If their product sells they're good.

Easy....stop buying fast food, over processed food, junk food etc. I think that would send a very clear message.
Easier said than done I am sure.

That fact that many people have become lazier, many people don't know what a balanced diet is, and because poor habits are being learned by kids and teens from adults (both over-eating and under-eating).

Strange how the victims of your/our war of terror don't have these problems. A lot of them must be praying we all go over 700 lbs and just stay home.
