It is completely understandable that she wants to play with the other children's toys. What she hasn't figured out, yet, is how to do that politely. So, *teach her* how to do it politely.

When you go to another child's house, sit down & play *with* her. When she wants another child's toy, show her how to ask for it. If the other child says 'No', show her how to offer the other child another toy in exchange or ask the other child if they can play with it together. If the other child still says 'No', show her how to ask the other child "Can I play with it when you're finished?", then show her how to find something else fun to do while she's waiting.

Kids aren't born knowing how to do these things naturally, you need to teach them - that's what parents are for!

She may not get this in one lesson. It may take lots & lots of tries before it kicks in. A good lesson to be teaching her alongside of this, is to consider the whole thing from the other child's point of view. "What if you were playing with a toy that Janie wanted to play with? What would you want her to do?"

Get somebody sympathetic to help you. That way your child can play and you can teach her. Each time she does this, tell her no in a nice way. Explain this to her even at home. She will eventually get the idea. Try to enlist the help of someone with older kids who maybe can understand that you are trying to teach her.

Talk to her before you go to the playdate. "Sweetie, we're going to play at Jody's house. Now I want you to share and and play nicely with Jody and her toys. If you have a problem sharing come and tell me. If you can't behave we'll leave and you'll miss all the fun."
