PEACE and QUIET (really!).
As someone who has ALWAYS had to work hard, EARN her own income and support her family, long term single (and who, sadly buried her parents as a very young adult (and my siblings and I were all on Active Duty with the Armed Forces), survivor of a short disaster of a marriage (to an abusive, violent sociopathic ex), then a Long Term Single Parent (of children with Psychiatric conditions -- inherited genetically from the ex's family line) ...
ALL I had is either death or work or Surviving Abuse, Property Damage or something else TOXIC in my life for the past over approximately a quarter of a century of life.
THIS last August (2006) .. the EX once again BURGLARIZED my HOME with the Willing help of an Adult Child. I FILED the Police Report, DEMANDED Charges be pressed, and now ... I am waiting for the very slow wheels of 'justice' to turn ... hoping to see them behind bars for at LEAST a few years ....
So yes, this last Christmas, in PEACE and QUIET, with NO TOXIC PEOPLE and their Problems/Behaviors around me .. just nice phone calls from my siblings and the lovely gift cards they sent so that I could get some help purchasing the materials to FIX the HOME after the burglary -- this was the BEST Christmas I could have had -- and had -- in a very long time!

It wasnt much so to speak, but it was a birthday card from a girl i fancied when i was 18. She sent me this card, when i didnt think she was interested in me, we got together soon after and we have been together now 17 years ! So technically the present was the girlfriend, later to become the wife....

My ultimate birthday present I ever have been given grew to become into an iPOD, and the final Christmas present I ever have been given grew to become into an electric guitar. the two considered one of them have replaced my existence. rather the electrical powered guitar. All I had on the time grew to become right into a crappy acoustic guitar. It grew to become into this type of alleviation to have a guitar i could have exciting with.

Bloke at work gives gifts to everyone at Christmas, 3 years ago I brought him a multiple phone charger you plug into a computers USB port.
It cost £3.00 at Tesco, he's used it every day since and the number of times his bosses have asked to borrow it as they had forgotten their charger played a part in his recent promotion.

I know the funniest. I got bought a bottle of cider for my 18th. Trouble is the person who bought it drunk most of it before they had got to the party -so I got a part bottle as a gift.
