Any meat is best thawed out in the refrigerator over night. Otherwise you can place it in the sink with cold water to thaw quicker.

Thawing Methods
Refrigerator: The refrigerator allows slow, safe thawing. Make sure thawing meat and poultry juices do not drip onto other food.
Cold Water: For faster thawing, place food in a leak-proof plastic bag. Submerge in cold tap water. Change the water every 30 minutes. Cook immediately after thawing.
Microwave: Cook meat and poultry immediately after microwave thawing.

You put them in the freezer. "Dethaw" would mean the opposite of thaw. You thaw frozen things by leaving them OUT of the freezer until they stop being frozen. So to "dethaw" would be to "freeze".
By the way, NEVER thaw meat by putting it in warm water. You're just nourishing bacteria. The best way to thaw meat is to put it in the refrigerator long enough for it to thaw out. The alternative is to use the 'defrost' feature on your microwave oven, and then cook the meat immediately.
