Try eating six small meals a day instead of the regular three a day.
This will keep your metabolism going all day and will prevent you from snacking.
Also take up some form of aerobic exercise.
Even if you started walking 10mins a day and as the weeks go by increase it by 5mins a week.
Don't forget to stretch before and after all exercise.
1 other thing Rome wasn't built in a day and you didn't put on this weight overnight so a 2lb weight loss per week would be sufficient. They say the slower it comes off the longer it will stay off.
Good Luck

I've just turned 50 and lost 26lb in 11 weeks on the Slimming World diet, I thought it would be almost impossible to lose the weight been older and less fit but its coming off at a good average of 2lb per week which is what doctors recommend you lose each week, there is so much choice and lots to eat on this diet and believe you me I love my food and this is right up my street as you can eat tons of food plus have treats like sweets and wine too, I'm not very active either as I had a serious accident a good few years ago so my limit is a 20 minuet walk each day, but this diet seems to be doing me good and I feel fitter and healthier than I have for ages, have a nosey at it on line at www.slimmingworld.co.uk as there are lots of ideas and tips on the site and see if you think it might work for you too, good luck and hope you work something out.

I am 51 and realise we are not as active as when we were 21. So we need to eat a bit less and do more exercise to burn the fat. I have tried weightwatchers but lost nothing much. I have decided to try the gym for a month to see if that helps. After 1 week I now have a more toned shape and a flatter stomache so thats what I would suggest.
Good luck

Hi I would recommend going to weight watchers, as it really does work, weather you have a slow metablism or high. Its really easy to stick to and you see results in the first week. This is the only thing that worked for me, and you dont nessecarily have to be really over weight or very over weight to join.
I spent almost 2 year excerciseg and cutting down on food and nothing seem to be shifting the weight just stuck and as I have problems with my knees I was in agony So I thought to myself I know people who have done weight watchers and have been successful, so I will try it and its the best thing I have ever done.
Also I would recommend gettng a GYM BALL, they take a bit of getting use to balancing on them and stuff, but when you work out with them you can really tell the difference and it will tone up your whole body and you will look slimmer in no time. The are worth it and are not too expensive and are really gentle on the joints really good you see results from first use.
I wouldnt get frustrated as there is things out there that can help you. Weight Watchers I dont see as a diet as you can still eat what you want its all about portion control. Theres us eating hardly nothing excerciseing our life away. When all we need is weight watchers.
I would pop along to a meeting, you will find the number on there website or just type in your post code where it says andit will tell you where the meetings are held on your town/citiy. Sometimes in newspapers you can get a coupon saying its free to join but its 13.95 I think to register and the £5 a meeting and nothing when you reach your goal weight. It sounds alot but it is worth it.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Try doing something physical that requires the building of stamina. I have found racquetball and wrestling will help drop some pounds off quick. Find a partner to do that with.

From breakfast, go ahead and beverage orange juice. But throughout the rest of the day, focus on water as an alternative to juice or soda
