Well, the books of the bible already contradict each other, so there's a precedent. Most of the books of the New Testament were written by the author to voice some new or different opinion from what had been written before. In many cases, an author is going out of his way to take issue with earlier works, so it's no wonder. The Book of Mormon is just more in that same tradition. In some ways, so is the Qu'aran.

Also, keep in mind how much the New Testament contradicts the Old Testament. I think a Christian would prefer the words "updates," or even "fulfills," but when you look at it objectively, the New Testament is largely a revamp of what was in the old. Whether you see that as a contradiction, or simply God giving us more because he felt we were ready is up to you.

Christianity is frought with contradictions. There's one God, but there's three. God is all-powerful, but Satan is his competition. God loves you, but make the slightest mistake, and he'll make sure you receive eternal torment.

You've OBVIOUSLY never read the Book of Mormon!

They contradict each other, except where the Bible is supposedly "plagiarized".

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ.

The bible doesn't mention the BoM specifically, but the Bible is mentioned in the BoM (2 Nephi 29:3) about 590 BC, when the bible did not exist as such. JS often quotes the from the Bible at length in the BoM.

While the BoM is the main feature that sets mormons apart from from 'real' Christians, most of it's unusual practices are derived from the companion book, "Doctrine of Covenants", formally the "Book of Commandments". These are the 'latter-day' prophesies collected by JS that actually defines the teachings of the church.

Of course those teachings often contradict the BoM, so we're back at square one.

Refer to http://home.teleport.com/~packham/101.htm for some interesting observations regarding the plausibility of the One True Church.

Not really. There are many passages of the Bible that are true and correct. There are also many passages that have been changed or mistranslated. That's where the differences are. We believe that the Book of Mormon clears up those mistranslations, and/or changes. They don't COMPLETELY (100%) contradict each other. The principles are there, but the clarity of what is sometimes being taught in the Bible is sometimes lost.

They do not contradict each other. You can find scriptures in the Book of Mormon that relates to what the Bible says. Overall, THEY DON'T CONTRADICT. You should read before judging.

Mormons believe that Bible is the word of god as far as it translated correctly. They believe that the book of Mormon is the true word of god.
Mormons put down the bible. When I was seminary in high school cross reference the book of Mormon with the bible. To prove the book of Mormon is true. But the Book of Mormon doesn't teach doctrine of the church. In book of Mormon doesn't teach polygamy, or blood atonement.
