Yes, but I was wrong. Then I died. Then God lifted me up again, because He loved me in spite of my loss of faith in Him. Now I will never lose it again. It was supernatural.

How can anyone lose a faith? With religion and discussion of faith virtually everywhere, it is very hard to lose something that is in your face all the time.It is more correct to ask, "Why did you stop believing?".I suspect the answer would be "Because I have thoughts".

Yes. There was a situation of rampant, ongoing abuse from someone at the church, everyone seemed to know (when the story broke), and yet no one did anything or made sure that this person was not in a position to abuse young people. Because he claimed to be "healed" through Christ, no one watched him as closely as they should. He hurt a lot of young people and when those young people decided to come forward, the church turned their back on them and supported the molestor!!!

I lost my faith in God because he did not protect my friends and I lost my faith in "christians" because they called my friends suffering from abuse liars and refused to believe them.

I STILL have trouble trusting "christians," especially those who wear their religion on their sleeves. In my experience, nearly all of them have been raging hypocrites.

I currently attend a Unitarian Church and am rebuilding my relationship with the divine.
Peace,
Jenn

Nope.
My faith started strong, like an explosion in my soul over 36 years ago, when I found out the truth about God's love for me in Jesus.
It keeps getting stronger every year.
I am really looking forward to seeing Him face to face.

I left it because of fear. I left it because of what the Bible says. There is one important verse that says something about counting the cost. It is literal and can be a difficult thing to follow. Honestly I can never leave Him completely. I keep getting called back. My life is supposed to be with Him

Bible study, mainly.
Plus discovering the history of the Christian church, interleaved with personal experience, the disunity of Christians socially and theologically...

A network of factors.
