The border needs to be secured not just from mexicans, but from terrorists. Think about it this way. If a mexican or a japanese guy can walk across the border and get in illegally, what makes you think a terrorist planning an attack won't get through?

This is what I think about the fence between the USA and Mexico's border. The fence is a most because of the illegal aliens coming across our border, the illegal drug traffic coming into our country from Mexico., all of these is happening right now.The possibility of terrorists coming into our country is in case they want to use this rout.. But we have to know, that right now the problem is not the terrorists coming into our country, our problem is the illegal immigration coming into our country by the millions and second the introducing of illegal drugs coming by the tons. Right now all of this is for real, not the terrorist. The war is on with the illegal aliens and the illegal drugs and this is the main reason we have to defend our border with a fence in addition to everything else because Mexico don't want to help us.. These are the facts and nothing else.

The illegal immigration is not with Canada and we are not getting invaded by Canada either. Is from the south of the border, period.

The fence is designed to stop ALL illegal immigration along that border, however it does mostly affect Mexican illegals. I do have to admit that Mexican's have tried to help stop certain types of illegal immigration as they have caught a couple of Arabs trying to get access to the country. We are working to secure all of our borders, the ones with Canada need to be beefed up more as well and this will hopefully happen as we near our goal of 6,000 BPA's being hired within the next couple of years. Right now terrorists would have an easier time entering our country undetected through Canada. That border is very long and dense with woods and trees. Anyone interested in becoming a BPA or other federal agent check out the websites below.

An effectively protected and patrolled border is an ESSENTIAL part of any country's infrastructure.

"Good fences make good neighbors" remember?

It amazes me how many Mexicans consider a wall or a fence to be an affront, but what is the first thing they do once they buy a tiny property with a tiny yard?

They put up a wall with a metal fence on top of it all the way around their property!

Then the walls get covered with graffiti !!!!

Because that is what it is for. It isn't about terrorism. Why? Because none of the terrorists that have ever attacked here came through Mexico. If they did then you would have a point, but they did not. Not a single one was Mexican and not a single one came here without documents. All of them have been legal.

your right. that's what i said when i first started coming on this sight. we need our borders fenced and patrolled by armed military, they are trained to deal with terrorist. and they will be there to stop the illegal invasion. some say it wont work. i think it will. eventually they will get tired of trying to cross and being stopped. after all it is our constitutional right to defend our borders from invaders. bush has not stuck to his oath to defend our borders. i knew i smelled a traitor in the wind a long time ago.

Because they are the majority of people trying to get to the other side and inorder for them to seceed in not having a border in their way, they have to make a big freaking deal about our border laws. Which inturn risks the lives of all Americans and eventually their own if they actually make it over. They have to think about it. The easier it is for them to get over the border, the easier it is for a terrorist to get over it and and possibly one day harm someone they love. If more mexicans lost loved ones to the terrorist attacks maybe they would understand more. But then again, who is attacking their country?? Was it......no one? Yeah thoguht so.

i think most mexs understand it, but they try to put a spin on it so that the fence will not be put up and all of hte illegals can continue to come here regardless of whether the terrorists are coming too. therefore, you and i are racists and the minutemen are vigilantes and Bush and Cheney are fascists...it's all about the spin my friend

as for the Canadian border i don't mind speaking 1st world Canandian, eh, nor do i see a bunch or cannucks taking our hockey jobs that americans dont' want to do!

.Because its so obvious they think that.Thousands of Mexicans cross the boarder and now the government is trying to construct this wall that it may or may not be completed.I believe that the harsh tureens and dessert will persuade them from crossing the boarder.A Mexican can Cross those obstacles because they are used to the temperatures of probably 120 of more.

Coz they're on this "we're special" trip. There's alot more than Mexicans crossing the southern border. People keep bringing up Canada and why not a fence there......let's see.....they have border patrol and work WITH us on keeping the border secure. That can't be said about Mexico at all. They haven't done one single solitary thing to help in any border security. That's why I laugh at the thought of "Mexico is our friend".....with "friends" like that...who needs enemies?
