find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Limiting calories is a given., however; it takes calories to burn calories so don't go overboard here. Your run, or other aerobic exercise, needs to at least be 20 minutes long. For the first 15 minutes, your body uses the glucose in your muscles and your fat stores are never touched. Light weight training using high reps and low weight will increase your muscle tone without adding bulk and produce a more slim look but still athletic look. I would like to also add that it is important to make sure your view of your body image is correct, if it isn't, there is no amount of exercise that will fix the problem.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

watch your diet for refined sugars and white flour products. Try to limit yourself to under 2,000 calories a day. Also, DO lift weights and run only a little. They are discovering that cardio work does not necessarily assist in losing weight but building muscles that continue to metabolize calories all through the day is the key to consistent weight loss.

you don't actually have to stop eating, if you do you will gain more weight. Just stick with the plan that your in and see the results afterwards. If you have been in a diet for a long time go to your doctor and ask him for help, but remember, Don't do anything drastic .

its the same old advice with weight loss - eat fewer calories than you burn off and you cannot fail to lose weight.
try dropping your intake by 100 cals a day for a week. if youre still not losing weight, drop it by another 100 cals until youre losing weight.
you could exercise all day but if youre eating more calories than youre burning off you'll still put on weight.

You may not be loosing weight but gaining muscle. Muscle is leaner but it weighs more than fat does.
