i mean, if a gay person accepts jesus as their savior, aren't they guaranteed entry into heaven? they sin just the same as everyone else.

no, i will not alter my question. when the majority of churches i walk into speak on the sin of homosexuality like it's the only unforgivable sin, i feel it is ok to speak in generalities.

I don't think christians should "pick on" homosexuals as you say. What I think happens it that, just like all groups, Christians have groups that are unkind and do alot of fingerpointing. That is wrong.

However, AS a Christian, I have to say that I cannot condone and approve of homosexuality simply because I believe that it is a sin against God. Not against me.....unless it is shoved in my face in public. So far, I am able to change the channel or turn my head whenever I witness homosexual behavior. (The same way I do when I witness someone cursing or innappropriately dressed.)

What bothers me is that Christians are constantly being yelled at for forcing "religion" down people's throats. But what I see happening in America is a decline in morals and values being thrust down MY throat and my children's throat more and more each day.

Tolerance goes both ways... ya know?

Why do bullies pick on weaker people? Fear and a false sense of power.

Christians actually believe there is an invisible man in the sky that knows everything, so of course believing that homosexuality is wrong simply because it's different isn't much of a stretch.

I'm waiting for the day when Christians figure out that you can't "fix" gay people and simply let everyone be happy.

Any person who accepts Jesus as their Savior but hold onto any sin is in danger of judgment.

If they are trying to over come it, then they are safe.
(should be asking God to help them also).

In today's world, many gays are trying to gain acceptance of their sin, but many Christians keep pointing out the need to call it a sin, and this is where the contention comes in.

We all sin. After accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, a true Christian is to repent.

Clearly, the Bible defines homosexuality as a sin.

Sometimes, Christians quote this Scripture out of hate, and abuse God's Word. Sometimes, however, Christians quote these Scriptures out of love and want to see the person repent, and they are accused of being "hateful".

In that case, the person has issues with God's teaching, not the individual Christian.

yes, it's a sin like all else. you'll see it increase as they want to make it law to reject God's laws of nature.

no they aren't guaranteed. neither is the Christian theif, the adulterer, the murderer, etc. It's like stepping over the fence and into a ditch: living in carnality.

homosexuality is listed as a sin. when you accept Jesus as LORD and Savior, you're giving the ownership of your soul over to God. Since that soul is now owned by a righteous master, He requires that you live righteously, and defying a command is not living righteously. God set the guidelines for marriage and all outside of this are sinful.

let me explain further. God doesn't really care if you're homo by birth or by choice of orientation: God cares that you're thinking contrary to Him, condoning sin, and practicing sin. Really, a person who is 'gay by birth' who believes it's wrong, doesn't condone/pardon it, or practice it, is not considered a homosexual.

God has commanded us to abhor sin, but love sinners, just as He did 2 millenia ago.

OK, first off; This isn't my yahoo account. It's my sisters; she's just allowing me to use it for the moment.

Well, the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy. The bible says that as long as you accept Jesus Christ as your saviour, then you're saved;

For men are not cast off
by the Lord forever.

- Lamentations 3:31

Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

- John 17:3

But, homosexuality IS a sin and, as God said in the bible, is detestable.

" 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
- Leviticus 20:13

The good news is, like I said before-and i'm sure you know already- that Jesus Christ died for every sin imaginable and, as long as we realize our wrong doing, ask forgiveness and repent then God will more than willingly forgive us.

" When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.
Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, 'Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.'
Jesus replied, 'Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.'

Another disciple said to him, 'Lord, first let me go and bury my father.'

But Jesus told him, 'Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.'

- Matthew 8:18-22

This all clarifies what I said before; in order to follow Jesus you must let go of anything of this world. Even if someone dies, as a Christian, we know that there's something much, much greater waiting after this lifetime.
For instance; I'm a seventeen year old guy so, typicaly, I have a problem with lusting after women no matter how saved I am. I won't lie, my flesh enjoys sexual activity, but there's a much greater pleasure in knowing that we did the right thing for God as opposed to doing what our flesh enjoys. So, in everything a Christian does, it's best we ask ourselves "Will this get me closer to God is this of the world?" Otherwise, God will leave you behind until you do make the decision to let go of what you desire.

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual practicers"
- 1 Corinthians 6:9

I've never even had the thoughts of being homosexual, but I do know where you can go to read about ex-homosexuals' testimony;

1. go to
christiananswers.com
2. type in homosexuality in the search engine.
3. read til' you're content. =]

Note: I've never read any on the homosexuality on that site, but I've links about their testimony. So, I'm sure you'll find something. =]

P.S. Don't let the hypocritical people of the church lead you away from God! It's everyone job as a Christian to help another person out. Jesus said people who believe they're perfect are only deceiving themselves;

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye, but pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"
- Matthew 7:3
Always know that God, Jesus Christ and any true Christian will take you as you are;

"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters."
- Romans 14:1

So, just know that noone is perfect and noone can judge you other than God; He is who we should all live for and not for people.

I hope God has put something in this you needed to hear.

God bless you.

I'm sorry if you think Christians pick on gays. The only responses I have ever seen from Christians are to pointed questions asked on this forum. And I don't ever see anyone "picking" on them. I see biblically based answers.

A person who is in sin, whether it is homosexuality, adultery, whatever the sin, who accepts Jesus Christ will be convicted of their sin by God's holy spirit. I don't see how anyone who has truly become born again could continue to live in that....or any other....sin day after day after day; unrepentant. That is contrary to what Jesus told the adulteress He forgave, "go and sin no more".

You might want to alter your question to read, "Why do SOME Christians pick on gays?" Because this Christian doesn't, and never has. Also, keep in mind that there are a number of Christian denominations that are open to gays and have been for years, so your question wouldn't make very much sense to them.

u have to be straight to get into heaven. Even Christians can be thrown into hell if they do not get cleaned up. For instance sex before marriage. U can not keep asking for forgiveness, and keep sinning. U might as well say Jesus came so we could sin.
