according to the bible the earth is 6000-10,000 yo, Evolution says the earth is about 47 billion yo, what do you think? Which one makes more sense?

Come on! how can you believe that! Some Scientists state that Evolution events took place millions and billions years ago, uhm it's stupid and crazy to believe something is billions years old! I rather believe the Bible and creation which states a 6000 to 10,000 period time, archaeologists find it easy to believe a bone is 2800, 4560 years old rather than 30 billion years old!

What do you think?

Or maybe your grandma's ancestors were 30 billion yo

For your information.
There are creationists who believe in an "old earth."

First, you're an idiot.

Second, evolution doesn't claim anything of the sort, it's a basic biological principal not a way of measuring time.

The Earth has been dated to about 4 billion years (not 47) using geological studies and radiometric dating techniques (no, not radiocarbon dating) and evolution has been proven to take millions of years.

Since you obviously don't have the knowledge to seperate evolution and geology you obviously don't have any right to argue this matter. Your information is flawed and from your last statement - "maybe your grandma's ancestors were 30 billion years old" - you have no idea what evolution is anyway.

My advice - try listening in school instead of scoffing at your biology teacher.

i know this is easy, but it is so easy i hate to answer. start with carbon dating, it cannot date past 5000 years accurately, and that is a stretch. The sun burns one mile of its crust every year, thus, if the earth was even a million years old, it would be too hot for anything to survive. Making the suggestion that we are millions of years old, is an easy way to run agendas that we are ancestors of amoebas. The bible, is a fantastic historical document, as well as a religious script, both which i think are accurate and true. A good place for reference is the Creation Magazine, out of New Zealand. Some of the finest scientists in the world work there. They are not out too prove their point, but to vacate the idea of evolution with simple accurate science.

Technically, Evolution does not claim that the Earth is billions of years old. Astrophysics, Geology, Oceanography, Archeology, Paleobotany, Paleology, Genetics, Moleclular chemistry, BioChemistry, Physics and a host of other sciences claim to have proof that the Earth is billions of years old. Evolution uses this timeline to explain speciation over the years. Evolution posits nothing as per the age, merely observes data and then posits a theory based on the timeline given by Science. All the above named sciences claim that the Earth is Billions of years old, Evolution merely takes that ball and runs with it. If you want to fight for a Young Earth worldview, you'll have to attack the basis for Physics Astronomy and Geology, among others, long before you can make it to Evoloution.

That's 4.7 billion, so you're misquoting your sources by a factor of ten.
That and the detail that you go by what you'd "rather believe" scores heavily against you, never mind your horrendously distorted summary of dating techniques.
How about considering points of view and deciding what is likely to be true, whether it's what you'd like or not?

Or just get the T-shirt.
"Google Earth: 4.7 billion years, and still in beta."

Personally, I think that when it gets into the millions and billions of years... it's just "scientists" throwing out numbers and really just making them up.

Even people that say that they have sophisticated equipment that tells them how old something is by all sorts of fancy lasers or something.. don't count in the fact that the machine was designed by someone that could have been wrong.. and that the machines are simply just told to look at certain things and then have to use a system devised by man to come up with the numbers.. It's all just 'theories' and 'guesses' really.

If I was a scientist, I could create a machine that dated things based on a particular set of circumstances. It would be programmed to MY way of thinking. If I gave it the basics and said "estimate this bone between 10 and 20 million years old" it might say "15 million".. but if I said "estimate between 10 and 20 years" it would then say "15 years".. It's all based on the creator of the machine really.

I am not saying this JUST because I am a Christian. I believe in science... Just don't believe that ALL science is correct.

It's funny because many people will say "why do you believe in God when you can't prove he is real".. But yet those same people will believe in "theories" and such of scientists that also cannot be proven.. They have faith that scientists are just 'always right'.. (such as evolution, big bang, dating of fossills... etc etc).. Truly, you may not be able to scientifically prove God exists, but you also can't prove that those theories are ABSOLUTE either.

The Bible does NOT say the earth is 6000 to 10000 years old. That is said by creationist, not Christians.

And where did you get 47 billion?

What you say makes a lot of sense. Who would expect you to attempt to manipulate numbers with nine zeros when it is so much easier for you to comprehend numbers with three zeros. You should not try to mentally handle anything beyond your abilities, and therefore you should believe that the earth is only a couple of thousand years old. Why strain your brain beyond its limit?

you know its fairly decent argument if you omit that part that says "according to the bible" Or anything about the bible in that case. Believe me the argument can get to your point without throwing biblicorasy towards us.

PS. where in the bible does it give an exact d.o.b. for the earth?

The bible was never meant to be a science book. Don't get me wrong I still believe God is creator but I think that the men He inspired weren't able to grasp billions. I guess you could sum it up that I believe the world is billions of years old and that the bible is partly inspiration from God and partly factual.
