I would actually not want to choose a doctor based on their religion. Their religion would have absolutely NOTHING to do with whether they area actually able to do their job!

I think that I would want to postpone the operation if I had no idea if the doctor was qualified or anything. Their religion does not make them qualified at all.

How could one even consider choosing a doctor by only knowing their religion? Wouldn't their specialty be the one thing you would be concerned with? I could care less what religion a doctor is as long as he is highly regarded by his peers and and recommended by his former patients. Believe me, when a doctor enters an operating room, what is running through his head is his expertise and training, he is focused on the task at hand, he is not thinking about his religion even if he is a very religious man.

Atheist.

Atheists have the highest regard for life. If a patient dies then the Christian says, 'Well they have gone to a better place'. The atheist knows that if his patient dies then they are gone forever. They will do the most to keep the patient alive.

But then it's a silly question isn't it. Because "What religion are you?" is definitely not going to be the first question I ask them.

the best qualified doctor, my life is in Gods hands but to intentenaly choose not too treat illness or to choose the a doctor that is questionable is tempting God. God is all powerful but I am responsible for my part as well.

Religion does not matter when it comes to picking a doctor, only that persons ability to perform their profession and the love they have for their patient.
If they love the patient, they show compassion then that is the person I would chose.

I already have had a major surgery, and didnt care about the doctor's religion. In the case you say...........i shouldnt care about it either, but may be I should talk with each of them, to see which is the one more interested about pple feelings.
Pple who care about another pple's feelings, has to be nice pple, then i should trust in that person.
That is not related with the religion .

I would choose a Doctor based on past performance not on religious beliefs.

When I had my baby, I found a register of doctors who are Christian and don't do abortions. To me, bringing a life into the world and then killing babies also is a contradiction. I wanted a doctor who had medical expertise but who would also pray for me and my baby....

If all I knew was religious affiliation...

I'd stay away from voodoo people. Other than that, it's just eenie meenie minee mo.

Actually I might just pick the Catholic because we would be more likely to have a beer after the surgery. :-P

Since religion strives on ignorance, I would choose an atheist.
