Toyota's are really fuel efficient.

First thing I noticed is that you said Germans are the best. That is not correct! They offer great performance when they are in service, but they tend to have short lifespans and are very unreliable. I would look into a warranty too. Toyotas are good cars, but they don't do much on a warranty. The Pontiac will have a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty, and they have proven to be good cars. A Mustang is a good performance car, but has a few issues. I would stay away from Mitsubishis, they are highly overrated and don't deliver in the ways most people thing. The newer Civics haven't been out long enough to have any concerns or issues with, and "it's a Honda" doesn't automatically make it a good car. I'd go for the G6 GXP if you want a good performance oriented car. The Saturn Aura is a sportier and more powerful version of that, and if it's any consolation, the engine and transmission are made in Japan.

I'm also buying my first car, I drive a cavalier (2 door) which is great for all i need, but since I'm having a baby, I think its time for a 4 door. The car i really like is the new grand prix , its sporty but will also be good for the family. kellybluebook.com has lots of cars to look at and get a price of what there worth so u dont get ripped off!
best of luck with whatever u choose

Europeans aren't necessarily the best but it completely depends on your price range. It sounds like you're in the 20,000 range so I'd recommend the Civic out of that short list. They're awesome cars but they're expensive for what you get. Check out the Scion tC. They're a great value, pretty decent power for a 4 cylinder and come loaded, unlike the civic.

Honestly if you think that civics and g6's are sports cars knowing about makes is the least of your worries. Mustangs and civics are about as related as me shaquille oneal.

low mileage
maintenance record

don't buy by brand. Do research on the car you want to buy.

If Fords have a short lifespan, then what the heck have I been driving. I drive a 1996 Ford Explorer with 217,500 miles on it...and its still in really good shape and the engine runs fine. I don't know where you heard that about Fords. I also have an 81 Ford Ranger sitting in my driveway that drives pretty nice.

The Nissan and the steer sparkling of are unlikely to be the main good options (examine customer comments for reliability) The B9Tribeca is somewhat underpowered, yet a minimum of it is going to be good. paying for a widely used kind 365 days steer sparkling of is insane in case you like a good automobile. you may assume recollects and problems with that. Get it OFF your record PLEASE. The Murano is quite effective actually. it incredibly is a tossup between the Murano and the B9. I say rule out the POS steer sparkling of and attempt stress those 2 and see which you like. The planet and the crowded roads do not in all probability want greater SUVs getting 15 mpg available and you in all probability won't like it too plenty the two as quickly as we declare conflict on Iran next 365 days and gas is going to $3.75 a gallon---- so i might strongly inspire you to contemplate something greater automobile like, till you incredibly are going to be using up on your ski hotel all wintry climate and you want 4x4 and 10 inches of floor clearance. additionally as a widely used time driving force, you would be greater helpful off with something somewhat smaller, much less complicated to shelter and with a decrease middle of gravity like a automobile. I recommend a Toyota Matrix or a Subaru Forester even, in case you like something SUV-like and you will shop your self (or your mom and father) particularly some money via figuring out on a type of as a substitute of a Yuppie prestige image SUV.

Not only do you have to know the type of vehicle but insurance might be a consideration in addition to reliability, looks, maintenance, drivability gas consumption, etc. You need to prioritize which category is important to you and go from there. Then you need to test drive to see if they can go up hills (tyransmission), braking, ease of starting, ability to handle corners without tipping over, gas mileage, etc.
