The only religion that does not use scare tactics of Hell etc are the Jehovah's Witnesses. From what I have seen they reflect 'God is Love' by the way I see them act towards each other and to outsiders like me.

RELIGION DOES NOT SAVE.GOD IS LOVE.WE HAVE A
CHOICE,LIFE OR DEATH.THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH AND THE REST ARE LIES.LUCIFER IS LOOSE,HE IS A LIAR,
DECEIVER AND DESTROYS.
Warning teach no other doctrine
1Tm:1:3: As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
1Tm:1:4: Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
1Tm:1:5: Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1Tm:1:6: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
1Tm:1:7: Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. GOD IS LOVE

Its true God is love, he loves everyone, whoever you are and whatever you have done. God doesn't send us to hell, we choose to go there. God gave us freewill and every human chose to turn away from him. If you refuse to believe that God exists and loves you then you go to Hell. Hell is just somewhere where God is not. If you hate God you won't want to go to heaven and live with him for eternity so God respects your wishes and sends you to Hell. The only problem with Hell is that God is not there, and seeing as God is love, the only good being to exist, then Hell is going to be a really miserable place. Its gonna be eternal pain and suffering. Sorry about the long answer.

okay, if God is love, let's see the definition of love according to the Bible: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

1) love is patient: God has not killed every sinner on earth

2) love is kind: He gave you a way out of eternal separation from Him

3) love doesn't envy (note envy and jealousy aren't the same): God has a rightful spot, but He doesn't kill you if you don't put Him there

4) love doesn't boast: I've yet to see God say "I am better that you, so do what I say". He states the obvious, but doesn't make statements like that one.

5) love isn't proud: God seeks for the betterment of others

6) love isn't rude: you ever hear God cuss?

7) love isn't self-seeking: He wants to save all from Hell

8) love isn't easily angered: tells you that He abhors sin, but He still forgives

9) love keeps no record of wrongs: God said He casts all repented sins into the sea of forgetfulness

10) love doesn't delight in evil but rejoices with the truth: thou shalt not lie; this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased; I am the Way the TRUTH and the Life

11) love always protects: God protects His children in all legality

12) love always trusts: He tests you, trusting you to make the right choice; He gives you spiritual gifts, talents and abilities to be used however you choose, hoping you'll use them correctly

13) love always hopes: He hopes you'll make good decisions

14) love always perseveres: God will never leave you nor forsake you

15) love never fails: does God Almighty mean anything to you? I have yet to see a time where God has failed.

Man calls it religion. Man (not all men) has corrupted and perverted the message Jesus gave us since his Crucifixion. The splitting of churches and hard stances on issues and ceremony styles have caused separations. Even slight variations of method of ceremony has split styles of worship. God is Love in its purist form. Man dilutes the purity. God's grace extends over man's short comings of his glory.
That is why " All fall short of the glory of God."

If you remember Jesus tore down the Pharisees temple and rebuilt it in three days? The three days are good Friday to Easter Sunday and three days for Jesus to resurrect. The Holy Spirit is Jesus's spirit given to all who confesses their sins and invite Jesus in. This is the new sealed temple of God. We are still to participate in corporate worship, but is not the main way to be "religious". It is truly a relationship with God from within. That is why our body is a temple and we should not grieve the holy spirit. Hope this clarifies.

Hi there,
yes, 1 John does say God is love. In which He is. He punishes His children, but that is part of love. Kind of like when your parents would spank you when you were little, but they still loved you.

God's love is displayed everywhere. But the biggest act of love is when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. His grace and forgiveness are also part of love. It's only a prayer away!

Hope this helps! Feel free to e-mail or IM!!
God bless!

Yes God is love. But He is also a holy God and sin cannot enter His presence. That is where we are in trouble, since we are all sinners.

That is why Jesus died on the cross, to pay the price for our sins. But, only those who accept Jesus as savior will be forgiven of these sins.

In essence, God sends no one to hell. A person will send themselves if they refuse God's free gift of salvation through His son.

There are many religions that do not have a belief in hell. Oh, you meant Christian sects. Yep all but one will fry you for believing the wrong thing. Nice, loving God.

Just a thought.

If "god is love", then we must be receptive to that love...

...In order for it to Be real.

So, it something in a "religion" goes against what you are receiving from it (sensing)...then maybe it is not love.

Love is Love. You either feel it, or you don't.

There are only two poles.
